There are different types of raw vegan diets, some eat fruit only, others mostly fruit, other 50% veggies 50% fruit, other sprout based meals, others supplement their diet with cooked nutrient dense plant food, and the macronutrient content consumption varies from person to person. I have tweaked my macros for body recomposition purposes (google it!). I am now eating a hig-carb , low-fat, moderate-protein raw vegan and high-raw vegan diet, again for body recomposition purposes as a petite WOMAN and I am incorporating resistance and weight lifting training for that purpose as well (more videos on the topic coming soon).
Disclaimer: PLANTS have PROTEIN, (amino acids) and building muscle can be done on a VEGAN, RAW VEGAN or HIGH RAW VEGAN diet but the macro distribution would be determinant on the type of physique you want to attain. Please listen carefully.

My name is Areli and I am a Physician, a Pathologist, and Neuropathologist, and I am certified by the University of Winchester in Plant-Based Nutrition. Besides pathology, I spend my free time educating people on social media about the benefits of a plant-based diet with an emphasis on raw foods. I currently (From Feb 2023 eat a high-raw diet, with 90% of my diet being raw vegan).

⚠IMPORTANT‼: I no longer adhere to a low-protein, low-fat, exclusive raw-vegan diet. Since February 2023, I have incorporated more plant-based protein and integrated resistance training into my routine. Currently, my approach is HIGH-RAW VEGAN with a sustained emphasis on high-carb intake, as the majority of my calories come from raw and fresh fruits, vegetables, greens, and seeds. Additionally, I have introduced legumes and pulses in a sprouted and cooked form, such as organic non-GMO tempeh and other soy products like tofu, as well as cooked beans, lentils, etc., and raw-vegan protein powder. Given this background, my current diet can be described as HIGH-RAW VEGAN with the following macronutrient distribution: HIGH-CARB comprising 60-65% of my calories, MODERATE-PROTEIN making up 15-20% of my calories, and MOD-LOW FAT accounting for 15-20% of my calories. This video explains the types of raw vegan diets (only).
The following list will clarify things I bit more for the newbies:
- Plant based diet: Diet where most of the calories and nutrition comes from plants (cooked and uncooked). Some people are vegan (zero animals/products), some are not.
- Veganism: Ethical stand and life philosophy that aims to avoid animal suffering, therefore, we vegans don't eat or wear products derived from animals. Vegans eat cooked and uncooked meals.
- Raw-food diet: A type of based diet: Diet where most of the calories and nutrition comes from plants (uncooked). Raw foodist do not label themselves vegan. sometimes they eat honey or wear leather etc.
- Raw-vegan diet: A type of plant based diet where people get the calories and nutrition from plants (uncooked) and also consider themselves vegan. This is what I addressed in the video... some raw vegans are fruitarians, some are 50% fruit and 50% veggies, etc.

I prefer high raw as the food options here are small and I'm not rich, so I get a ton of extra nutrients with some cooked foods like tofu, sweet potato, sushi rice, steamed vegetables, as well as sprouts I make.

I combine a high raw vegan diet with the SOS free whole foods plant based diet of Dr. Goldhamer. I do like to eat steamed veggies and a sweet potato at times. Concerning raw vegan, I don't like that some raw vegans eat a lot of salt in the form of Braggs Aminos and oils like olive oil and coconut oil and also Agave for their sugar intake. SOS free is NO salt No oil and no Sugar. I would rather have a bowl of quinoa when I need extra calories than the extra sugar and oil raw vegan eat.

Excellent video I believe we evolve in our vegan journey I really enjoyed your explanations I began my journey in 2019 completely raw and I lost 50 lbs eliminated seasonal allergies reversed pain I had lots of energy In order to get what I thought I needed at the time carbs in cooked food like rice beans and so on I incorporated cooked whole foods 6 months I still kept a large potion of my diet raw between 80-95 percent sometimes a little less over the years however I then discovered information and did lots of research like yourself interviewed others I’m constantly learning and realized it really resonated with me that living foods raw foods and mostly fruit is the healthiest way and truly what our natural diet that works for our digestion is meant to eat. I feel that energy and glow I did and feel I’ll stay this way now I feel I have returned home lol I have better even spirit and gratitude in a way even though I felt great being whole food vegan I just really love raw. I now even feel excellent with the lots of fruit in this type of raw I’ve considered complete frutarian however where I am now I do avocados and olives for fat and I do sprouts moringa leaf do a little corn I’m thinking of eliminating that this could change however I do that and very little however dinner of leafy greens as well as fruits like tomatoes and cucumbers and sprouts My diet consists of course the melons berries bananas and the many delicious sweet fruits as well Could you tell me your thoughts on mono meals . Great clarity on the various paths.I’ve eaten living foods now for 25 years. I learned from Freddie Bisci, and have seen all the styles from Viktoras, Gabriel Cousens, Brian Clement, Doug Graham etc.. I’ve consolidated their experience to eating primarily a diverse high amount of vegetables, sprouts, sea vegetables , seeds and lower fruit count …and living in Europe my blood type does well on Buffalo Mozzarella & goat/sheep cheeses and raw yogurts.

Well, it turns out that I did change my name 😁. I have changed my name to Dr. Areli. It feels more aligned. I switched to a high-raw vegan diet since Feb 2023 after 5 years of raw-veganism. You can find me as DrAreli on most social media platforms. If you want to unfollow, I totally understand, but believe me, I won't do something with aims of harming you, quite the contrary, pursuing a healthier way of living will always be the end goal and I wouldn't like to deprive my subscribers from the information that has come to my radar.

I am going to copy paste the text from some posts and answers I have given explaining the reasons for my change:

"The raw vegan movement is a beautiful concept and in an ideal world, people would come to this lifestyle to become healthier, respect nature, educate with facts, promote love for animals & support each other.

Recently, the label “raw vegan” it’s been more about fame, money making, dogma, restrictive eating, personal biases, & radicalism, something that I do not support and won’t like to be associated with (if you’re NOT doing these things, don’t take it personally).

At least for now; I’ve decided to name my channels simply Dr.Areli

I will keep promoting the consumption of living foods (raw foods) but not exclusively since I'm high-raw-vegan myself since Feb 2023, and will keep raising awareness about compassion for the animals (I'm an ethical vegan), but I no longer would like to be boxed or categorized with a label that has been abused + smeared so much unfortunately. The masses cannot make a distinction


There are many reasons for the change and the recent event of a “rawvegan” passing away (we all know it wasn’t the diet), was the straw that broke the camel’s back that reinforced my decision. I never said I’m blaming others for the change, I just denounced what I can see right now from some influencers with the promotion of personal biases, or forever detoxes and extreme cleanses, or funnel type profitable systems. I don’t want to be associated with that. That’s not “raw vegan”, but the masses cannot make a distinction at this point and will group everyone inside the same box. Also, I have decided to increase the amount of plant protein in my diet and I’ll be raising awareness on that topic as well in future posts. I don’t deny that raw food can give you enough protein to live well and fulfill your nutritional needs if it’s well-planned, but I’m doing it for body recomposition purposes and I’m also training for it. You can build muscle with raw foods, but, can you “recompose” your body as a woman? (Google it if you are not familiar with the topic). So yeah, not calling myself rawvegan also has to do with the fact that I’ve been high-raw vegan since a few months ago. I thought about “high-rawvegan doctor”, but that’s too long and I would like to teach about other subjects and variables in addition to diet to achieve optimal health, so yeah, Dr.Areli makes it for me and I’m content with it. If I am trying to lose 30 pounds and insulin resistant, does it make sense to add more protein until my cells can absorb more glucose in fruit? What is your opinion? Thx!

How can you eat more protein while being fully raw? Grains and legumes can't be eaten raw.

Please say more about Protein, but your great education as a doctor, Tell me is the content of a fruit just glucose or sucrose molecules, whereas a vegetable has proper cells with DNA which house the amino acids? Fruit is only 5% protein, does it therefore have cells with DNA. I dropped Biology at 14, my friend teased me and hated the teacher for his Darwinism.

This is so confusing. You say their is no sush thing as a vegan diet, then posted this video about different types of vegan diets. A plant basedbis not a vegan diet. A plant based diet means you consume mostly plant foods, and some meat, honey, dairy. And eggs. Just call it a vegan diet, because a vegan doet is not a plant based diet. It is a plant exclusive diet. Most ppl on earth eat a plant based diet, not a vegan diet.
