IL France Correspondent Tuula Rampont discusses the best time to visit France.

France is the largest country in Europe and the most diverse—German influences exist along its northern border, Spanish notions in the south, and an “Italian touch” extends from Nice to Marseille. Not to mention influences from Belgium, Switzerland, and Luxembourg, which share its borders. The country’s weather is likewise just as diverse—you’ll find sunny skies in southern France, cool and rainy weather in Paris and the northern regions, and snow in the Pyrénées and French Alps.

By early I thought you meant 5am to 6am - that’s the only time it’s safe to be on the beach in summer in Australia...

Sunrise 5-6am in Provence and Cote d' Azur is great for photographing the countless number of gorgeous villages, before all the tourists flood the streets. Eze, St. Paul de Vence, Biot, Haute de Cagnes, Grasse, St. Remy de Provence, Salon de Provence, Les Baux-de-Provence. Arles, Nimes, Nice, St. Tropez, all great early in the morning for taking photos. Very few Americans this year because of the disaster that is Trump.
