Our universe is kind of a paradox—it's a grand place to live, but it contains an anomaly that should be scientifically impossible. Join Hank for today's episode of SciShow and learn all about why our universe shouldn't actually exist.

Maybe the unified theory was the friends we made along the way.

I like how confidently we talk about the origins of things and how we are always surprised the universe isn’t abiding by our understandings about it.

“The story so far: in the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.”

I love how these fundamental questions show us how little we know.

This video is probably my favorite out of the SciShow videos I've watched on this channel over the years. It did a great job of giving an impression of just how large an undertaking it is to try to understand the world around us. Great job!

"Based on current understanding, the universe ad we know it shouldn't exist"

A roundabout way of saying, "Our speculation about the universe appears incorrect"

At this moment in another dimension in an antimatter universe an anti-me is watching a video about how the universe doesn't have enough matter.

Video Summary: We think we know a lot about the Universe, except we don’t

Well dear. When a particle and an anti particle are very attracted to each other, they merge together and annihilate each other in an explosion that irradiates all their friends nearby.

God I already know I shouldn't exist. No need to make a video on it.

Back when I was in college this exact question was asked. My professor explained that it could have been matter and antimatter popping into existence and anti matter falling into blackholes.

Stop trying to destroy the Universe. It's where I keep my stuff.

“It happens in a process called “annihilation”...” Well now, doesn’t that sound nice...?
