Good Job!

interesting and informative video man👍

I think you are safe to go out and shoot dear as long as you are not going to crowded places and not contacting people.

just keep social distance.
stay safe with your family man ☮

I put this lens on my canon 6D and caught an amazing pic of a dragonfly flying with all its details and could not have done it any sharper with all the up to date cameras and lenses out there today and I’m not kidding you

I hate when people make photography look like is only art for few gifted people or a hobby for rich folks: I believe there are so many potential good photographers that don't even dare to give it a try ... congratulations and thanks for your work in sharing and promoting this culture!

By the way, don't know if you are interested in, but have you ever tried the good old Nikkor 28-105 AF - D ?
I recently got one only because it says "MACRO" and I was curious to have a basic lens to try some close up: it gets you surprisingly close to the subject, and despite my very basic skills in this type of photography I am rather pleased by the result (colours / sharpness).
the down side is that with a D90 the autofocus becomes slightly slow (better on a D300 / higher, or a PRO - film camera as it was intended, I suppose) and on D5000s or D3000s would only work as manual focus, but for an intro to macro I feel like it was not a bad choice.
Since it's a lens from the 90s, is possible to find it cheap (paid 40 or 45€ for mine), used but in good shape.

I would like to try more macro photography but I agree with you about the shortcomings of this sigma. I can buy used either the Nikon 105mm 2.8 or the 40mm 2.8. What do you think? Here in NY things are getting crazy now. I hope you and your family are safe and well.

Hey man, I really like your courage in making these videos... been wanting to start making videos about photography, too, but I just can't convince myself to make the first step :) ...are you planning on making a video about your thought process and planning around making videos? I'm not a native english speaker either, I guess that's what I'm mostly scared of, on the other hand, I don't want to make vids in my native language as english could bring in wider audience. Keep on going... you're great!! Thanks...

Peace be upon you..First of all, thank you for the beautiful and detailed explanation...I have a question. I have my Canon d90 and I have the same lens as Sigma 300-70mm. The problem is that it does not mount on the sensor at all.

Hi, in searching this lens for a nature photography like sea and animals, do you think is a good one when its working in 300mm? The quality of the image is good?

Also got the Sigma 70-300 lens (no Apo). That is a quite nice performer even until 300mm together with a FULL FRAME SENSOR! That is the advantage and disadvantage. With your Nikon D90 you´ve got more zoom range until 450mm, but less sharpness. This lens is a bit worse with APS-C. I can see the difference in my case between my Sony Nex5n and Sony Alpha 7. On the 7 the Sigma lens brings way better image quality, but of course less zoom range, "only" 300mm. But the macro capability of this lens is impressive if you think about the low price. Btw., I´m messing around with 1/1000 shutter speed and of course high ISO free hand ;-)

Can my sl3 get damaged if I invert the lenses?

It's not super macro. Also, if i can make a suggestion. The flash is too direct for macro work. It shouldn't look like you used a flash, and you should use a tripod for macro.
