(2023) BEST DAYZ SETTINGS FOR PERFORMANCE AND PVP

Here is a quick and easy guide in gaining the best performance out of your computer for both PVP and performance. Its super easy and should give u a huge boost in frame rate I hope this helps. if you have any questions feel free to ask as I will be reading all comments to try and help people!

Copy these into your steam settings for the game

Anyone that wants to fix stuttering issues/freezing (while in a fight it’s so annoying I know) you need to put the dayz full game onto an SSD as the hard drive causes this problem, SSDs load things like terrain and shaders ect. Faster also SSD will make your load times a lot better too

When I found this out I uninstalled game, bought my self a M.2 (SN750) and reinstalled it on the SSD now it’s as smooth as a butter !
(If you buy one make sure there enough storage for the game)

"useallavailablecores" is an unreal engine launch parameter, it won't do anything to enfusion, and -winxp is a left over command from real virtuality (the ARMA 2 engine) which hasn't worked in a very long time, since 0.60

There is a setting I missed in the folder called Mouse smoothing this should be put to 0.

Hitting 130+fps when I usually got stucked in 80/90 with a hell of stuttering!

This is an outdated process of changing the settings within the game itself.

The current DayZ game runs on a different engine (Enfusion) than when this process was a 'fix' (Windows XP days of DayZ engine of ArmA game)
All you're doing is manually adjusting the 'Low', 'High', etc of each settings by hand. Same result can be done by just choosing 'Low' instead of manually editing "viewDistance = 1200".

I'm pretty sure 1100 meters is the furthest you can see a player so yea using 1200 should be good

Cant find the DayZ file with the "Chars" notepad setting

Edit: Just searched DayZ in the top right searchbar and it came up.

Unrelated to these changes but after a fresh install my game is off centre, anyone had this happen and found a fix?

with a 7700K and GTX1080, no matter which graphics settings I use, i get roughly the same frame rate. It has to be a CPU bottleneck.

What set up do you have? Is this for a high end PC set up or mid or low?? Or will this apply to all??
