Of course roland will be better, but they are at a very different price point and its not a fair comparison. I picked up this kit for $479 on sale so thats about 1/3 of the price of a nicer roland set

Alesis hasn’t replaced the obnoxiously low quality sounds for over 7 years… The Nitro Max was barely an upgrade, just finally removing the rims and giving a bigger snare. The Pro is just recycling their mid range drum pads. The fucking cymbals haven’t been updated in forever and they suck balls if you’re playing with the right sticks (they don’t absorb vibration, hurts your hand). Alesis is milking tf out of the Nitro hype. Simmons is better in almost every way to Alesis’ low-midrange kits.
