I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the raw radio comms, the simple edit, no obnoxious music, just raw experience. Feels like you're in the cockpit conducting that sortie. Love it and thank you!

It's so cool to see the AH-1 and UH-1 still working together, just like all the way back in Vietnam!

If you watch with auto-generated subtitles, every time the gun fires it says [Applause]. Applause indeed. 👏👏👏

The unobstructed view to the front and top in the Cobra is awesome. Gotta be the best outward visibility for any attack helicopter. Side view is great, too! Viper of the heli world!

Hasard, thank you so much for the ride along, this was amazing to see how this awesome Cobra works and the Pilot for all of his knowledge, truth be told, flying rotor wings has been my dream to fly since being a kid, again thank you.

I’m not a pilot, but I have a love of flying because my late uncle (Major, USAF) piloted a B-17 in the Pacific in WW II and became a civilian pilot after the war. When I was about 6 years old my first plane ride was him taking me up and doing engine off/restarts and other drills. I never had do much fun in my life. I remember thinking on my first commercial jet flight at about 8 years old how incredibly boring the flight was. I kept thinking, “when are they going to do something fun?”. To this day I miss the plane dropping with power off as my uncle waits to restart the engine. Much respect to you and everyone in our armed forces. And what an incredible platform the Zulu is. The 6 year old in me would LOVE to experience it from the cockpit.

This channel is FUCKING AMAZING. Usually you'd see short clips from jet fighters or mil helis with no commentary or comms whatsoever and only like 1 or 2 angles...BUT THIS CHANNEL HAS IT ALL.

I had no idea the Cobra carried AIM9. So cool to hear about the air combat capabilities. Top notice content as always!!!!

Definitely a very good looking gunship and deadly too in the hands of USMC crews I imagine, no doubt a bout that! Kudos to the pilot, admitting that the Zulu and Echo Apache make a great team, with each having unique qualities. I wonder if USMC and Army ACAV aircrew do exchange tours in order to get to know each other's platforms and learn how to make best use of them when operating in a combined fashion. Would love to see them working closely together!

Former Huey gunship pilot VietNam/Navy - very enjoyable video

It's easy to compare the apache and the cobra but they both have a purpose and each is more suited to their own role, and the zulu is just a fantastic example of logistics simplicity, reliability, rapid response and range. Though I must admit I prefer the 64 simply on the merit of it having more tools to use on the modern digitized battlefield. Non line of sight engagements and being able to find one's targets with ease, and share those targets in a scalable way is a total force multiplier. I hope this isn't the end of the cobra lineage though, who knows maybe we may eventually see cobras and apaches on the battlefield in their intended roles one day, hopefully it's not needed.

Army Infantry vet here. I could watch videos like this all day long. Unfortunately, I have to go back to work, hahaha.

As a former 64 driver I don't agree with the video's title but the Z is an amazing gunship. I would have to admit in CAS the Z is as good if not better than the 64 but it all comes down to the crew.

Man, you must have some serious connections. How does an Air Force F-16 driver gets to fly the Viper?

A couple years ago I was lucky enough to walk around and take some photos of some USMC helis that had stopped for a refueling in Albuquerque. My favorite part of seeing the AH-1Z up close was the "HIGH POWER LASER ; DO NOT AIM AT PERSONNEL" warning stenciled on the targeting camera. I've always found it pretty comical looking back. Great video, I really enjoyed the watch!

Nice video ... we have them in Czech Airforce finally, so US is not only 1 out there! Both AH-1Z and UH-1Y are just amazing improve for us.

A no bullshit, genuine, informative video for a fascinating aircraft. So rare and appreciated.

13:53 I will correct this answer. The only NATO country that flies Cobras at the moment is Czech Republic since August of this year. Once the deliveries are finished they will operate 10 of them. The next NATO country that could potentionaly fly Cobras is Slovakia that has been offered 12 of Cobras. It still waits approval. Hopefully this new government will akcnowledge the offer. The army of Slovakia is very pro Ah1Z Viper as it has no combat helicopter.
