EA SPORTS WRC vs Richard Burns Rally

Let's try to figure out whether RBR is really the only rally simulator, and what is EA Sports WRC then? And I think I'm the perfect person to do it. Because I'm a fan of Dirt Rally 2.0, the previous game from Codemasters, who are currently working on EA Sports WRC, and I'm also a fan of RBR.

My PC specification:
Graphics Card: RX 6800 XT
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

My setup:
MOZA R12 base
MOZA SR-P pedals
Modified DimSimRacing shifter
Modified DimSimRacing handbrake

Subscribe to the channel,
and have a good stage!

With RBR, surviving a stage feels like an accomplishment. Rallysimfans adding a season mode in the latest version is great, I look forward to them bringing more classes and allowing non standard stages to be used. VR in RBR is absolutely wild, doing a rallysimfans online rally in VR is just so great.

EA WRC I still find fun, but there is no sense of danger in it like RBR.

I was starting my simracing journey around year 2008, and for me EA WRC is more difficult because of unnatural car behavior. I can't deal with strange arcade physics. In RBR after crash I always know where I made a mistake. In EA WRC have no idea what is happenig with the car.

In the end if you want to have the must fun, then EA Sports WRC is your game. However if you want the most raw version of rallying where you will have to put in the work to get better then RBR is your game.

i think rbr is better but sense it's all mods, its just to complicated for most people. we want a game that's easy to install and play

thats why iracing beats ac.... easy setup

Two good games.
The first is old af the other one is new.
Both of them are far from to give you real sensations.
Both of them give you a similar thrill in terms of competition.
Both enjoyable illusions.😊

Love the video mate, I funnily enough did WRC vs Dirt rally lately so this is a great add on to that.

The one thing I dont like is the RBR grip levels. Even if I set the stage and weather as good as it can, and change the setup, I struggle to believe a modern rally downforce monster, with advanced suspension and modern tyre compounds is gonna have such little grip
I can believe it from an old 70s RWD shitbox, but a $550k Rally1 car? I have my doubts
Regarding WRC, too much grip most the time. If DR2.0 had better tarmac physics/FFB and a tad less grip overall, it would be much closer to RBR

In every similar video people tend to forget (or don't know) about DR 1.0 with physics MOD, probably the best blend of fun and realism in sim racing history, the only issue was a very limited content in DR 1.0...

I tired running EA Wrc with a G29 wheel it was undrivable over sensitive. I went back to Wrc 9 for my rally racing with a wheel.
I'll have to try Rbr again I have the original Xbox version of the game. Amazing how it's endured all this time. Great video 👍👌😁

Just enjoy both, they are amazing in their own right with their own pro's and con's

i don't have ea wrc but vr in rbr is perfect. vr in dirt rally 2.0 is horrible, the car bounces around while your sitting positing stay fixed. So if the car tilt 45 degrees, your sitting position remains upright which makes me feel disconnected from the car. (maybe there is a setting to fix that i am not aware of). Hopefully this ain't the case with ea wrc.

That's why my new PC is awaiting for RBR soon. EA WRC is good after 4 beers on the sofa.

I'm also convinced that RBR is super easy to set up. My dd wheel worked perfect with only assignment of the axis.
Only thing that really need to be done is to download some good pacenotes and codriver voices as default ones are terrible. It's just copy paste some files.

other thing is in rbr you can actually feel the road, the ffb in rbr is just perfect.

I have a PC worth 2600€, and EA WRC still has shuttering problems and lag. I can't reach 90 FPS on low settings!! In Dirt Rally 2.0, I have all settings on high, and I have had 160+ FPS!!

I have to point out an error a lot of people seem to make when talking about Unreal Engine. UE is unbelievably good at graphics, and can produce photorealism. The reason EA WRC looks the way it does is mainly because of the artists working on the game. And also when you use an engine like UE, it doesn't have as much of an inate "look" as people seem to think. You have a lot of options to play with, and the artist will play a huge role.

Just look at the some of the newest stages in RBR. They use the same engine, but the artists manage to create, at times, photorealism out of the same engine used for the original stages.

And don´t forget the promised - but apparently abandoned - triple screen support for EA WRC. It´s a mess with triples - and RBR / rallysimfans delivered this feature a couple of months ago.

It´s hilarious, that modders can do some things better, than EA.
