What is 'The Message' (William Branham)?

William Branham's teachings were and still are controversial. This video explains them in detail.

Branhamism is also known as "The Message" or by some "The Message Cult"

I was raised in the message beginning in 1965. Fast forward, I preached the message, at least a version of it from 1979 until 1992. Those years were not without unreconcilable issues of the message.

In my travels I was introduced to every version of the message under the sun. I began to accumulate many questions and found out “you do not ask reasonable questions.”

I walked away in 1992. It was the most difficult decision, and journey, I ever engaged in my life.

Fast forward. After years of research, I discovered Branham was correct about some of his teachings, and, he also contradicted himself beyond comprehension.

An example:

Once in talking to a man, he said, "Nowhere in the Scriptures did Jesus ever say that He was, plainly say He
was the Son of God." There's several places He said He was the Son of God.

There's somebody trying, tell me the other day, "Jesus never did say He was 'the Son of God." He sure did. He
said He was "the Son of God." Oh. told the woman at the well. She said that she knowed Messiah coming. He said,
"This is He, Who's talking to you." He was the Son of God.

I've heard infidels one time told me that Jesus never did say He was the Son of God. He sure did. He certainly did.

Now the contradictions:

He never said He was the Son of God; He said He was the Son of man.
1965-0125 - This Day This Scripture Is Fulfilled

When He was on earth here, the first time. He was the Son of man. He could not be Son of God then; He never claimed to be.

Do you see it? He did this consistently.

Never run out of false prophets or wolves preying on others. The messenger is more important than the message. You should always question men & their motives even if their words seem to line up with scripture.

Charismatics give some amount of legitimacy to Branham's ministry because for several years in the late '40s and early '50s he didn't try to teach. He focused on preaching Jesus and ministering to the sick via gifts of healing and the word of knowledge. Men like Gordon Lindsay and Ern Baxter testify to the miracles that occurred during that time, but they both distanced themselves by 1953 due to the error he began teaching as he came under the influence of Oneness Pentecostalism. You can acknowledge the bad without dismissing the good.

Seems some Charismatics and Pentecostals liked Branham for his “healing” ministry (fits their theology, see God’s Generals), but say he later strayed from the faith, due to obvious doctrine errors. I don’t see how you can pick and choose like that.

I also see many Branham followers feigning these videos shown here helped them to “see the light” all of a sudden. Sorry, not buying that. You already bought into it before you saw this post.
