I do want to believe that Padme could convince Anakin to turn back if Obi-Wan wasn’t there. Mostly because when Vader and Luke were talking on the way to meet Sidious, it sounded like Vader wanted to go back to the light side but didn’t see himself as worthy of redemption.

Even if Padme put some sense on Anakin's head as you said, she would never rule as the emperor. Anakin may have gone to try to kill Sidious, but they would have either gone back to Naboo to stay there or Anakin would surrender or at most flee to who knows where.
Padme was a defender of democracy, dialogue and peace, I don't see that changing even for Anakin and even more after knowing all he did.

Padme wasn’t fascist, so she wouldn’t have followed down the empire path, especially as a new mother of twins—she’d be more concerned with raising them to be good people the way she was raised. Anakin would’ve had to choose between his lust for power or a quiet life the way Obi-Wan did after ROTS, raising a family and hiding from the Jedi since they’d be after him
