Guys, I just gave an SAT practice test, and it's not even close to how hard it is shown here. There are still easy questions, but some require a lot of geometric, statistical, and calculative knowledge. Not to mention, the English part is quite a stressful exam, not exactly boiling hard but hard enough to flip your mind if you haven't studied English upto a good standard English speaker's capability.

Edit: Thnx for the 800 likes. First time getting this much.

Or just guess the answer from the options
4x4=16x3=48
4x4x4=64×3=192
Simple

just plug in each answer choice into the x exponent. for example 4^1=4. so you would do 4^1 + 4^1 +4^1=12. Since 12 is not equal to 192, A cannot be the correct answer. Moving onto answer choice B (2) 4^2+4^2+4^2=64. 64 is not equal to 192 so, B is incorrect. Now answer choice C (3) 4^3 is 64 so 4^3+ 4^3 +4^3=192. There you go, answer choice C is correct.

4^x+4^x+4^x = 192
3(4^x) = 192
4^x = 64
x = 3

This is how I did it (I was estimating).

4^1 is too small, same goes for the 4^2. 4^4 is too big so the answer is C.

if you look at 4x as y and and the equation as y+y+y=192 its easy to see that all you have is figure out which number added 3 times equals to 192. 3 goes into 180 60 times and 12 4 times so y=64 which means x=3. if you can recognize that immediately and do the division quickly it should be faster than the regular method.

logarithms too
4^x = 64
x = log4(64) = 3

Theres another technique actually :

4^x•3=192

4^x=192÷3

4^x=64

(2^2)^x=64

2^2x=64

2^2x=2^6

Base contains the same number so you can eliminate them

2x=6

x=3. Theres your answer

Or just substitute each answer choice into the exponent until it totals to 192 🤷‍♀️

An alternative way to do it, is to factor out 4^x-1, So, 4^x-1(4 + 4 + 4) =192, and 4^x-1(12) =192, so, 4^x -1 =16, or 4^x-1= 4^2. Then it's just x -1 =2, so x =3.

The comments are all "this is so easy" but as someone who really struggles with basic math even in highschool I really appriciate these videos (not american btw.)

divide 192 by three.
64.
4^x+4^x+4^x=64+64+64
4^x=64
4x4x4=64
x=3
Did it in about 5 seconds.

It's soo obvious:
4^x + 4^x + 4^x = 192
3(4^x) = 192
4^x = 192/3
4^x = 64
x = 3

All he had to do was plug in the numbers to the variuble. Its not one or two obviously so plug 3 and 4 in to the X to see if its right, way easier
