I've been watching chip repairs videos the whole day, trying to understand and compare absolutely everyone else uses sanding with 1500, 3000, 5000 grit so seeing how this guy repaired all those without doing any prep just getting to business makes him really the winner of simplicity!! I just ordered all kind of items at amazon to tackle some bumper repairs but now I'm having 2nd thoughts!!

Hi, I used about same method in the past filling paint than a bit clear coat on top than wet sanding and than polishing and the bonnet looks like new painted so I know this method works!!! your method is less heavy on the paint, but you don't use clearcoat but hardener, can I also just make the mix of basecoat and clearcoat? or should it really be acrylic and harder? the degree of gloss then very much depends on the mix. I have already watched many other scratch repairs and videos from your channel but could not find the answer here.

Nice video. 2 questions. Did you before filling worth paint do any clean up inside the chip and smoothed down the edges with sandpaper? Can you do all these steps if the car has ceramic coating on?

Is the clear coat being mixed in with paint common with most German vehicles? I have a Lapiz blue 2018 Golf R with some stone chips and am curious if I could follow these steps for a similar result. Great video!

What would you recommend if a rock chip is only as deep as the clear coat but your base coat still intact? Would you fill it in with base coat touch up still?
