From what I read in the comments section, it reminds me of the attribution of Schopenhauer's Three Stages of Truth;
"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."
I will add that the last one is met with competition. So far, PAL-V is doing an awesome job!

This is straight-up not a flying car. It's essentially a helicopter with no doors.

Oh, and you can buy one for $600, 000 and a aviation license. It's a fun toy for the rich pilots, and that's not a bad thing by any means; we all have fun toys. But the moment I here things like 'flying car' and 'future of urban mobility', alarms start ringing in my head. Could you imagine the anxiety a sky full of these vehicles would cause young Joe on the street? This concept is not mass-market friendly.

Too many people were really hurt by our lack of flying cars at the turn of the 21st century, so calling the Pal-V a flying car just threw salt on our wounds. All these drone, helicopter, or private plane companies claiming to have flying car technologies under their belt are just hurting the dream, and making it that much harder for that one kid who actually solves the problem in the future.

Here's my hypothesis about flying cars:

When flying cars really do come one day, they won't have wings, propellers, or jet engines. To put it simply, they won't fly via support from the air. Right now that's all we know but I guarantee you that there are other propulsion systems waiting to be though of. I want to hover out of my garage without disturbing the neighbors and zip through the air to a McDonald's Drive-Through, before heading to work. That to me is a flying car.

To the obviously capable team at Pal-V: it's okay to market your product for what it really is i.e. a sporty private gyrocopter. I'm sure you'll find a fan base that appreciates your authenticity, not this bad flying car hype you're resorting to. Sell relevance, not hype.

Clearly this video struck a nerve with me. I have my reasons. I simply hope that you have the strength to at-least seriously consider some of my criticisms.

the concept makes sense. once mass produced, the price will be of a small car.

Not practical at all, because it needs a runway, and it's too noisy. To be useful in common urban environments, it needs a VTOL capability, and to be as quiet as a modern family sedan.
