The PAL-V Liberty is the world's first production legal flying car on sale.

The flying car developer announced that the PAL-V Liberty, its 3-wheel gyrocopter, is now for sale, with first deliveries expected by the end of 2018.

In the air, the Liberty can climb to a maximum altitude of 3500m. Its 197hp flying engine can propel it up to a top speed of 112mph (180 kph).

The drive mode engine has 99 horsepower and a top speed of 100mph (160kph), with 0-62mph (100kph) sprint taking 9.0 secondes.

The standard Liberty Sport model starts at $399,000/€299,000. The Pioneer Edition, which comes with added options and is limited to 90 vehicles, costs $599,000/€499,000. Both come with introductory training lessons and power heating, according to PAL-V’s website. Operators need a gyroplane pilot’s license to fly the vehicle.

To reserve a Liberty of your own, you will have to front a $10,000 or $25,000 nonrefundable deposit for the Sport and Pioneer, respectively. The company is also accepting $2,500 refundable deposits to put customers on a waiting list.

Even though I know the part with it flying and driving is animated, I know this will be a real thing. And I can't help but ignore the fact that it was animated since it's that cool. And since the PAL-V One worked splendidly already, I know this will too.

This is 1 fantastic aircraft cum road-going vehicle, cuz it possesses the ability of conversion, from car to gyroplane & back. Had it have the qualities of VTOL-"Jump Takeoff", like some others in the industry, wud absolutely be an added incentive. Just my layman suggestion, if possible let the rotor column be energized-powered or live like a heli's, for so much just in assisting the aircraft into VTOL, then the rotor blades feathered or flip-over in quick succession, returning to its regular free spinning-auto-rotation lift quality. Grant it a 1/3rd to 2/5th shorter rotor-blade span, but increase the number of blades from 2 to 3 & if possible evn 4 or more (cit ; further exploration needed of corz), balance-out or in other words slow rotor spin down to the ideal most RPM to compensate for a higher, much more desirable forward flight speed from that of the present's. Efforts shud also be made for an increase in passenger accommodation, if possible, how about 6 or more realistically at least 5 Westerner sized individuals, luggage excluded. As little runway length as possible, oughtta be the very goal of such platforms. Give it some thought, see "if" the suggested parameter can be attained. If can, then that wud be quite a feat.

Well it looks cool and very modern but the first prototype flying car dates back to 1949, an massive 69 earlier, and we are still 12 years away from 2030 before it will come reality to the mass.
So the designers behind the worlds first flying car were an massive 81 years ahead, not realising that in 2030 it will finaly happen.
The future was the past and the past becomes the future.

you could just put a para-glider parachute on a chassis with a basic motor and propeller and theres your flying car. and its inexpensive. not as sharp as this thing of course.

I won a PayPal car from Jeopardy which I was suppose to get at least five hundred dollars a month or a week for life I guess if I did ok with the PayPal but all I see is them taking my money an stealing my vehicle an using my identity without my permission an me left being abused I was in college an named my car helicopter as they told me to pick a name for a car I named this pal, V
