The Liberty has passed the road admission tests and is now street legal!

Who hasn’t dreamed about a flying car? Taking your car for a ride in the sky? After flying and driving the test prototypes in 2012, PAL-V started the design of the Liberty, its commercial product. Recently the Liberty passed the stringent European road admission tests and now is allowed on the streets with an official license plate.

“It’s another great step forward for us, now we ‘drive' ahead to the last milestones. In parallel we organize roadshows across Europe to demonstrate the PAL-V to customers: Where shall we meet?”

I really love this car. I saw the video with the Pal-V One and I was frankly amazed. After seeing the design of the Liberty, I used my brain (unlike many in the comments here) and realized that yes, it will be flight capable since the Pal-V One flew just fine, actually it flew quite nicely from what I witnessed. So I'm very proud of you guys, frankly you folks at Pal-V are geniuses and I have high respect for you people, for prototyping a smaller and simpler vehicle first and getting all the bugs worked out and the autogyro mechanics streamlined and made as simple as you could, but even more respect for upscaling it to a far more useful size and then going through the miles of red tape to get it registered. Step 1 of designing and prototyping has been done, Step 2 of licensing it for road use has been done, and now Step 3 is in progress, the step of testing and licensing it for flight. You said 1200 tests? That's what, like well over 1000 hours of flight testing? Maybe closer to 3000 hours since I suspect many of those tests are duration-based and thus time consuming? You guys are seriously awesome, doing all that work. I can't wait for the Liberty to be licensed at long last, you've all put in so much time and money and effort, and its soon to pay off.

Now, for those in the comments who didn't use their brains, I'm rather disappointed that they couldn't see beyond their noses to realize that there's this pesky thing called "the law" and its rather strict about flying vehicles since those laws are there to prevent us from doing incredibly stupid things without seriously good reasons or things that would cause harm to others or even the society around us, like I don't know building your very own airplane and crashing it into an apartment building somewhere. So really, for those brainlets calling this masterpiece of engineering fake, I implore them to use their singular pair of brain cells to reconnect them to the rest of their brain cells and think for a moment about reality, and that yes, the prototype flew and this production model uses the exact same structure and functionality (likely improved and certainly even better now) and thus, yes, it definitely flies beyond any shadow of doubt.

So again, wonderful work Pal-V and I look forward to the conclusion of your flight licensing and the video where you can legally show us this work of engineering art in proud flight. Its going to be absolutely epic!

We have the first commercial flying car! How can we advertise it?
A 1 minute spot showing the car running just on the roads would be perfect..

This is the model t, the daimler-benz motor carriage. It is impossible to overstate the importance of this car. Why one of the big car companies haven't done this I do not know. These guys have beaten them to it. One of those incredible milestones

Awesome! Unlike the Terrafugia TF-X that can fly only in cartoons.
