Couple things I think you forgot to mention in relation to street cars. 1. Cast manifolds are very reliable, whereas headers (extractors as we call them in Oz) are prone to leaking over thousands of kilometres due to heat cycle stress, vibration, and flexing. 2. Cast manifolds hold the heat better, whereas headers radiate the heat. This causes a) Higher underbonnet temperature (bad for performance on the road); b) worse cold start fuel economy (exhaust gas cools during heat transfer to the large surface area causing slower gas velocity and a longer time for cat converters to reach temperature)

Do you have to buy a specific set of headers for the type of engine that you wish to modify? For e.g i have a honda b18 engine and i want to replace the exaust mani, do i have to buy a specific one for that?

Does it matter if my standard exhaust insert to the engine is square i wanna upgrade it to another brand but the one o want is oval shape help

I say this think of it in terms of breathing, the more you take in the more you need to let out. So if more air is better hence turbo chargers there needs to be a place to expel that exhaust for more efficient performance which equals better hourse power and a cleaner more efficient burn.

Hey summit I have a 1971 f100 it has a 302 with a manual transmission 3 speed. It has the old z bar setup. Do I need to get shorty headers or long tube headers?

Look at the size difference between the stock cast iron type V's 4 into 1 headers and the short tube headers as well ?

ahh alrighty now to go look for some aftermarket headers for a car that’s been discontinued and hated on since it rolled out the factory line..

I finally went to Summit's cast rams horn manifold after having to saw out full headers, and finding the 3/4 headers I got didn't clear the starte, butted up against the pitman arm travel and were up against the idler arm bolts on my 57 Bel Air. Plus the starters would burn out. Old school can save many many headaches.

I have a 1986 Lincoln Mark VII LSC and I was told they came out of the factory with headers, it's not quite as loud as I want it, what would be the best headers to get a throaty, muscle sound out of my Lincoln? It has the High Output 5.0

Hey, so I am looking into some headers for my 1985 ram d250. It has a 318 5.2L and I'm a bit nervous about sound violations. I've seen some things where people can open and close there headers? And I was wondering how to get that option. Thank you. (I'm buying headers from summit racing)

I have what looks like a D port on the cylinder heads and a perfect O on the exhaust headers i noticed this was an issue when I put a Holley sniper on there and giving me a bad o2 sensor reading but the point is I've tried researching this on my own trying to figure out what header I need to match the big block 454aluminum head I really need help

Thank you for the reply. I found a pair of headman headers part#69060 on your website. I do plan on a dual exhaust system to be installed as well. I'm in KY an there is no testing here and I'm in a rural part of the state.
