I like when a YouTuber realizes short and to the point videos are better.

I used VHT high temp paints back in the 80s and they worked great. I think EPA regulations must have come into play in the ensuing years because I haven't been able to make the coatings last even while using the same prep techniques I've used for years.

“Your headers will never get that hot” *laughs in turbo*

I used this stuff in the silver flavored variety to paint a transmission. Looked great just like a brand new transmission and very durable not like regular silver paint.

I think it would be useful if these coatings actually insulated to keep high temps out of the engine bay.

Love it, thanks for this, literally coating the headers for my BRZ as we speak

Wow you must be pros because you didnt even need a mask while painting. Last time I painted a car part in a semi enclosed area I was digging blue paint particles out my nose. But that was a long time ago.

Would have been interesting to get the temp on the 1st one. The interest of ceramic coating is to reduce radiated temp...
Here we have 0 comparison

Can you test it at the max temperature and with water spray as it is on raining day.

Powernation, the instructions on the can read that the headers require baking at 250 degrees before placing them on the engine for the 30 minute idle test you did. Did you bake them first ?

Interesting. Your results are not the same as other YouTube videos. How much did VHT pay you?

I did this and followed everything to a t. Weeks later it looks like crap, just go get it ceramic coated and be done with it

I think it will be fine for resonators and mufflers to protect welds ?

If one can afford the costs, thermal ceramic coating is the only way to go. Unbelievable the reduced under bonnet temperatures.

I just bought some longtubes yesterday and they have the black paint on them and I was wondering what can I use to get rid of the old paint so I can repaint them with high temp paint

sounds good high temp paint in general.

What about rustoleum.

Painted my exhaust with VHT 1200 Primer, Rustoleum 2000 black, and rustoleum clear coat 2000 degree and holds up great.
