I was walking in a park near my college to have lunch on my own. Headphones in, perfect weather, nothing to ruin my day. This song came on shuffle in my playlist, and honestly, that was probably the most peaceful experience I ever had. It almost put me in a trance. No other song has ever made me feel like this before.

Mr. Sato had much more to create for his fans, but he is not longer with us, I always remember that and can't avoid imagining what had happened if he were still with us in this world, I think he had continued creating awesome stuff like this awesome song, as one the Fismans' member said once: “Shinji would love be part of current musical festivals, he loved the vibe and mood this kind of shows brings to everyone ".
May rest in peace master Shinji, thanks for your awesome legacy.

this gotta be one of the best songs ever lol
rn i’m (trying) to translate it for my japanese class I should be failing …but it’s led me to varied interpretations of the lyrics

part of my enjoyment of this song may actually be heightened by my amateurish attempts to understand it bc it lets me pick the interpretation I like best, the way the song makes me feel instinctively when I first hear it. For now I find the lyrics to tell the bittersweet account of a wistful person whose lost their will to live staring at the sunset. They don’t want to go on living, but in their daydream they see the silhouette of another with which they can share their gloom and be joined. The image of the shadow suggests they aren’t tangibly there together, but the song repeats “the figure had to be yours” implying that the silhouette holds a firm memory of its form/identity. When the song repeats “in the sunset” at the end it tells me this image of togetherness is something the person held onto like an unforgettable memory. This daydream is the last place their mind wanders before they’re gone.

I don’t think i’ve heard anything else capture an abstract idea so interpretive and vague, but execute it so vividly. means so much to me
