I needed this video, especially the part about plateaus. Nobody talks about that in music school. Progress is always expected.

Thanks for sharing, Kerry! Dope advice.
One thing I wish I had known earlier was that listening to and playing other instruments can really help you develop new ideas on guitar. That’s gotten me out of a few plateaus in the past 😄

I wonder if #1 is a problem with any career that is in the spotlight. A boxer wants to see the measurment of GOAT be it Ali, Mayweather to Guitar if i play distortion can I compete with Jimi, Ymgwie Malmsteen. If I play jazz, can I stand in the same room with the George Benson Paul Jacksons of the world? It is an inadvertant problem that is INEVITABLE, Yet Brother Kerry's humilty lets us know HE TOO experienced it, we need to know, thanks! As far as #2 I am of the few, I had a shop with one left hand guitar and its tone was nonexistant so I ended up with an ear based on a guitar with no mids. It took years to relearn that my guitar's tone of high was hurting ears. Otherwise Great motivational video!!!

I really appreciate this video, and it's very true. Number 5 has been my major challenge for a long time and I don't think I've been able to conquer it yet
