When the game is close to its end, I usually stay in jail for as long as possible. But in the beginning of the game I always pay to come outta jail so I can buy more properties

i invented a strat i call death row
here's how it works
step 1: choose one half of the board to buy on
step 2: try to own half the board (mainly the bottom half) because you get the park place and boardwalk. railroads and utilities
are optional
step 3: protect what should be yours. never let your rivals take what should be yours. if they do take back what's yours AT ALL
COSTS!
step 4: after half the board is owned by you upgrade to hotels when you can
step 5: play the waiting game
it's very expensive but if you do it right it will payoff trust me

By the rules you are forced to leave jail on your turn:
1) use out-of-jail card
2) pay your way free before throwing dice
3) pay after throwing 3 times no doubles and move by last dices

If you can‘t pay your way out you need to trade for money. If you can‘t pay, you are out and loose.

We play with a rule where you don't collect rent while in jail to fix that exploit. In video game sense, we patched the glitch, because it fees kind of like a glitch that you can still get rent while in jail.

My family plays a rule where you cannot collect money while you are in jail so while you are in jail other players will gain money and buy property while you are doing nothing

The only useful tips (in my opinion) are that he says don’t buy utilities and buy railroads and that yellow are good followed by dark blue and greens

I have it irl but i played it online and bro someone had a red house and hotel 3 of them and I landed 80% on them i was going to quit than I scammed him with my trades and won
Also I get so happy when I go in jail

The reason he said not to buy hotels is to create a housing shortage. There are 32 houses in a standard set.

No going to jail is terrible in late games bc if someones got orange taken and has Hotels your cooked when you get out of jail

What I do is I buy 4 railroads and buy Oriental, Vermont & Connecticut Avenue and put hotels on them. It’s very good pay because I have reading railroad there too for an extra 200 bucks

But if you head to jail u cant have more properties than the other. same thing for landin on them orange stuff and you can get more rent from having both the utilities and trains
