S Ramakrishnan with 41 years at the Indian Space Research Organisation is probably the single individual who has been central to the development of India's most successfull launcher, the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), Currently he is the director at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, the location from where the first rocket in to space was launched on 21st November 1963.

In this interview, recorded on 21 August 2013 at the VSSC, talks about his long career and the development of launchers during his extensive career.

Yes, he was an authority on launch vehicle technology in general and propulsion systems in particular. His review meetings were education for youngsters and elders alike. We still cherish the days listening to his learned views at VSSC.
