Prince William insisted Lady Susan Hussey resign for racist comments: The Prince of Wales has backed the decision of his godmother Lady Susan Hussey to apologise and resign from the royal household after she repeatedly questioned a black British-born charity boss about where she "really came from". The incident, which left the monarchy accused of "institutional racism", overshadowed the first day of William and Kate's visit to America to stage the prince's Earthshot Prize award ceremony.

He shouldn’t have…he was in another country and should of waited until he got both sides of this ‘story’…I think it’s despicable that she was asked to resign.. she was played..

It was a set up. She rants about racism on social media and there are connection to MARKEL.

She should not have resigned. Her question was appropriate. Everything today is ‘racist’. Such a joke.

I feel bad for this old woman. As a person of color, I wouldn’t be too sensitive if I’m asked about my ethnicity or country of origin. What is wrong with that????

Abusing our elderly is this fashion is despicable! We're supposed to care for, love, and protect our grandma's and granpas! STOP ELDER ABUSE!

I wish William hadn’t reacted so quickly

Lady H didn't repeatedly ask where she was from. The "British-born charity boss" acted as though she didn't understand the original question, and baited her to keep asking until the language fit her narrative & agenda. This is 100% elder abuse!

Feel very sorry for lady Susan. As for Fulani I hope her 5 minutes of fame were worth it apparently she felt abused by it all . (O please get a grip lady). I think she's been very clever knowing how this will wind people up .

Ngozi Fulani is ignorant and racist, if she see's this as a true intentional racist attack on her .. Ngozi Fulani is replacing racism for ignorance . When you have people that see Racism in everything then you will never defeat racism. Some on Both sides need to learn

What happened to “some reflections may vary”. William, there are many decisions to be made regarding your father’s new role and he weighs them all very slowly, to the dismay of many who are waiting for his decision on the former royals. But it is very disappointing to see that not only did he react with haste and without due consideration to assuage prickly political racist, never considering that racism works both ways, but he forced you also to speak without measuring arguments on both sides. Disappointing!

According to the transcript of the conversation, as reported by Nigozi Fulani herself, a very polite 84 year old lady asked a reasonable question of her several times. It was obvious, when it first was first asked, that the question referred to her family history. Had Ms Fulani answered immediately with her final answer instead of goading with several more and more obtuse answers in between there would have been no need for any repetition of the original question.

Wow! After serving for 60 years, Lady Susan is being reduced to just an “individual”? Is the caption for real? There’s a big difference between “insisted” and “backed the decision”. If Prince William had really insisted the resignation, then I view him in a different light now… looks like being popular matters more than showing loyalty. Ms Fulani could’ve just answered a harmless question that was asked out of curiosity (especially since the event was attended by international guests); instead, she had decided to be evasive. This is exactly the outcome the RFK Human Rights foundation had wanted in order to further justify Meghan Markle for the Ripple of Hope Award. It’s even beginning to smell like a set-up.

The woman was dressed in African clothing at a palace reception. Normally, the only people dressed that way are from Africa and the clothes are the traditional costume from the part of Africa they come from. She most likely was asking standard questions based on the clothing as she would have for people wearing local clothing from India or many other parts of the commonwealth. This was a hit job by a left-wing nutter who accused the royal family of domestic violence against Meghan. If she lied then she was probably lying now. It is shameful that Prince William threw his own godmother under the bus. I have lost all respect for him.

This woman is an active supporter of Markle's and tags the favoured Harkle photographer in tweets. She was a walking threat who should not have been invited. The Palace need to up their game regarding invites. This has overshadowed the very worthy event and was completely avoidable.

Queen Elizabeth must be rolling in her grave for this harsh treatment of Lady Susan. Bad and impulsive decision by Prince William. She deserves respect from him and an apology.

How is wanting to know where someone came from racist?

I don't think it's racist to ask where someone is from but when that someone is evasive it's best to move on.

If nigozi thought it was racism, then why didn’t she just walk away rather than waiting for the prize
