I read Inside This Place, Not Of It a few years back and it was very heavy but very moving in its own way, and a very important one because, as you note, most of what we read about conditions in prison focus on men. Not to discount their experiences, of course, but it's crucial that we also hear about the experiences of women, nonbinary people, and others.

Both those poetry collections and both those non fiction books sound so good, and almost seem to go together in some ways! I'd love to read especially Seduction, as I've been really interested in 18th century history and the not so englightened enlightenment this past year or so

Have you read/heard of The Raqqa Diaries: Escape from Islamic State? It was released a few years ago and is written by a Syrian refugee about his experience living in Raqqa. I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for more on the issue.
