Thanks man. I tried the lard and butcher paper wrapped ribs as well. Not sure I noticed much of a difference, so I guess we kind of came to the same conclusion.

Filtered bacon grease is what I use and it’s a game changer with my ribs and pulled pork. Great video.

Great informative video. I totally agree with you, not everyone has Jeremy Yoder $$$ to buy expensive beef tallow for these cooks . I'm all about keepin it simple . Lard is cheap and I use it quite abit .

Man, the cooks are great. Your production/editing is also great. Look forward to watching your channel blow up.

For ribs, I end up spraying then with "I can't believe it's not butter" spray after a couple hours. Keeps them moist for the rest of the cook. Then I wrap in foil with some liquid, usually pineapple juice. Then ill sauce for the last 15-20 min.

Tallow is all about that sexy factor. Looking nice when presenting, and it coats your mouth with a layer of the oil, that when smoked makes one believe it enhances the smoke flavor. It has another use in the holding portion for bigger cuts, but it’s not for flavor. Great video man. I love the production you put into everything

Any plans on making a rib cook tutorial for a pellet grill? The issue I have with my Traeger is because of the heat on the bottom it pretty much gives it this weird crust on the bottom. So I’ve steered away from smoking ribs and usually grill them. But the mad scientist ribs look good. Might have to jump back in the game
