At my previous job, we got a resume from a girl who straight up listed Only Fans as her most recent employment. I respected the dedication she had to not leaving a gap on her resume, at the very least.

By the time I left, my manager still hadn't decided on whether or not she wanted to call her in for an interview.

22:45 That's 100% legit, especially if he has more than one kid. Parenting is great training in conflict resolution with people who are very bad at handling any sort of conflict.

9:54 Laughing _waaaay_ too hard as I imagine someone who walks kids to school every day but only occasionally returns for them

Had a lady once hand me a handwritten resume on the back of a hotel bill, claiming she'd graduated from "[my workplace] University" (ex: if I worked at Starbucks, "Starbucks University"), right after she asked me to break an item so she could buy it for cheap and told me about how she constantly called out of her current retail job if she didn't feel like going, and was just job hunting to get her parents off her back. She got mad when I said I'd give it to the hiring manager, insisting I WAS the hiring manager (I was a bottom level sales clerk). She came back later and proceeded to slander me to the real manager, claiming I was rude and had said I'd been the manager here for 30 years (I was 27 and the applicant was older than I was). My manager of course didn't believe her, passed the resume around the shop for a good laugh, and threw it in the trash.

18:49 Having a preferred name isn’t anything unusual. It might be someone who is trans where their legal name differs from their preferred name. Maybe someone was named for a parent they don’t have a good relationship with and want to distance themselves from. Maybe they just don’t like their name and want to use one that fits them better.

If someone has a preferred name (or preferred pronouns), respect that. It’s not hard. It makes someone’s life nicer and more pleasant when they get treated with respect and doesn’t cost much to do.

I am considering putting "I take my pet scorpion jetskiing" on my resumé. I really do.

I was an assistant manager in a famous soap store. My sister's friend wanted a job there so i told her to drop her resume with the manager and that id put in a good word for her.

Her most recent job was at Aren't We Naughty (an adult toy store in Canada) and her job description included "testing all the vibrators." What she *meant* was that at the point of sale, staff had to put in a battery to verify for the customer it worked before they leave since there are no returns...but but it sure came across differently to the manager. She didn't get hired.😋

As a game tester having experience with gaming on your resume for applying to game jobs is a plus. Outside of that I wouldn't put gaming on my resume any where else.

I had a coworker list his Mensa membership on his resume. We made him stop, and he suddenly got a lot more interest from employers.

10:40 "Completed more than 3, 000 hours on Star Ocean on Playstation"

That was probably me as I LOVED that particular game. Then again, it's not -- I don't put video game achievements on resumes.

I knew a guy from high school who worked at a mom and pop convenience store who was an asshole. When the store was bought by a chain, he was not retained. Another friend of mine was retained. My friend showed me that the first guy had reapplied and included "snow removal" for an elderly neighbor, along with the neighbor as a reference. He was not rehired.

He reapplied several months later, included the same "snow removal" job and reference, but put the Strikeout setting over the name and added "(Deceased)" to her name. He laughed hard at that one.

16:48 I would hire this guy in a heartbeat because he has straight and clear goals and is willing to improve the company, something most 9-5 people don't even can be bothered with. All his points are valid, if someone would have a problem with him, it is solely based on unprofssional, sloppy work or lazyness from the counterpart. I wish more companys would have such professional people in IT and management.
The commenter below is obviously someone who doesn't like to work in a professional manner so he thinks clear orders are a nightmare. These people like ace-murdock you don't want to have in an environment apart from flipping burgers...

1:28. He could have made it a bit more businesslike, but he's in high school! How impressive a resume could he have?
6:53. I'm adding that to mine right now!
19:40. Ngl, I'd be more interested in the second one....
20:44. You're looking for farm labourers and checking resumes?

Well seeing how Star Ocean is my favorite video game series ever and Star Ocean 2 on the PlayStation is my most nostalgic and most loved I know who I'm hiring. Anyone that loves Star Ocean 2 that much has to be good.
