In this video, we're talking about Andor, Rogue One, and Andor Season 2. I've been working to so more detailed analysis on Star Wars, and I think this is my best attempt yet.

In this video, we are distilling what actually makes George Lucas' Star Wars, what it is today, and why shows like Andor and Rogue One, as opposed to the Disney Sequal Trilogy, somehow feel more like star wars.

And when I say star wars, I mean The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of teh Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. I mean, all the star wars movies.

The 4th monologue to note was from Nemik, delivered after his death when Cassian plays his manifesto. The writing was impactful and thought provoking. It summed up every reason the entire rebellion exists. Delivered in his own voice, when we know how he died, makes it even more effective. Amazing moment in an amazing series.

What I also love about rogue one is that it expanded on the worldbuilding rather than just copy pasting what was already there.
The planet Jeddah, guardian of the whills, death troopers, U-Wing, tank troopers, Shore troopers, extremist rebellion faction, its all new but also familiar and it doesnt break canon

George Lucas wasn’t concerned with making a good Star Wars movie. He was concerned with making a good movie. Tony Gilroy wasn’t concerned with making a good star wars show/movie. He was concerned with making and telling a good story.

I love it when stories talk about fighting for something greater than yourself. But mostly about hoping to help create a future that they may never see in their lifetime. Their rewarding is better life for the people that follow, not for themselves.

The only thing Andor was missing was a bit more comedy. As Patrick Stewart once said "The main thing people today forget about the original Star Wars is how funny it was. There were a lot of laughs in it."

Great video! I thought this the second I saw the first season of Andor. Nothing else has captured the “spark” of Star Wars for me since the Clone Wars series.

I remember when I used to watch White Noise Reacts during 2021 and 2022, and now when I went to see if they still make content, instead I got the terrible surprise that the channel ended.

But now I'm watching this new channel that I hope gets a lot support too.
