It's all making sense. He works for politicians that also mismanage taxpayer money

All I can think about is how Grahams coffee perfectly matches his jacket.

When he said he was a political consultant, I thought, yeah, that makes sense.

Graham, getting out of debt is like saying I want to loose weight. You want the result, but not the work. Make more, spend less. Eat less and better, exercise more. Right?

Words I didn’t think I needed in my life until today: “unalived”

I completely agree with the point about getting something done when it matters. I don't think it has to be as dramatic as being "unalived" if you don't complete the task, but something as simple as a deadline goes a long way toward giving someone that push they need toward accomplishing something (I know it does for me).

It's wild how many people get trapped in these policies thinking they're making a smart move. The comparison between 401Ks, mutual funds, and the Roth IRA was super insightful. But the "buy, borrow, die" strategy? That's some next-level financial maneuvering. Always appreciate these deep dives into the financial world. Makes you rethink where your money's going!

Graham,
A political consultant is someone who usually runs polls for politicians, then tells the politicians to ignore those polls because they are “bad”. Either that or they are the group of people brought in to assess how to complete a project, and those consultants usually hire more consultants who hire more until the funding for the project is all eaten up.

Consultants are one of the leeches on society that eats away all of our funds.

Aperson who works in politics cnt pay off his debt... oh the irony

I agree Graham! It drives me nuts when people who make good income are making bad decisions with money as well. A simple budget is more than enough to ensure you know where your money is going!

I live paycheck to paycheck because of my spending issues. My parents maxed their credit, filed bankruptcy and bragged about how they got away with everything for free and only had to give up their car 😂 had to learn about finances on my own

Funny how he indirectly say die in the first part just to say it straight up on the second part 😂

In France the cadres have their car lease paid for by the company they work for. So they only pay the tax on the benefit. Everything else (the car lease, the insurance, the gas) is paid for by the company.

There's a saying in training that you can't outrun your fork. likewise, you can't out earn poor spending habits.

If your "starter home, " in Northern CA is $2.5-$3, 000.000 your screwed. With $175, 000 your barley middle class in these areas, same as NYC, or Miami.

Im about $23, 000 in credit card debt, and just started a new job in Feb 2023 where I earn $110, 000 a year.

I'm living paycheck to paycheck, as I pay down my debts.

Takehome, I bring about $1, 550 a week. That's what $6, 200 but after all expenses for the month I have only about $2, 000 in my bank account at any given time.

Meaning, I spend about $1, 550 a week. This comes out from my mortgage, rental unit that is housing my mother's belongings, insurance, taxes, utilities, three credit cards, car repairs, etc
