Whenever I pull out my writing equipments, I really catch everyones attention but then again, if you're pulling out a chisel and stone tablet, it sort of hard not to notice it especially when you start carving.

I think all fountain pens get attention. I have a pilot metro and people complement me all the time

This video would contrast nicely with the opposite end of the spectrum; the 'stealth' pens.

Brian, so happy that you included the Jinhao 159. It is one of my favorite pens. It writes smoothly and feel substantial in your hand. A great affordable pen.

I loved the fun energy in this video with the light hearted humor. Always entertaining to hear other peoples thoughts on what a fountain pen really says and means.

I like that your giving the nod to the Jinhau 159. An attractive pen well priced with great flexibility to make it the way you want it.

That we can see, you're beaming the entire video.
I'm not into cuban cigarrs as writing instruments, thought - I like my pens stealthy and almost as slick as a lead pencil.

When I think of a power pen, I think of a big one with a big nib.
The large Edison Collier with colors that pop, Pilot Justus 95 with its adjustable-flex nib, Noodler's Neponset with the big music nib, and the large TWSBI Vac 700 all seem like power pens to me. The Pilot Vanishing point is utilitarian, but with the small nib and ballpoint look it doesn't seem like one that makes a serious statement.

I really wish you had not shown me the water finish Raden VP.   I don't like the Raden finish they normally show, with the flecks.   The water finish, though... I might have to track down one of those.

I was soooo hoping a Jinhao would make it on there! That's all I have right now simply because they make such a great statement and are very inexpensive.

Picked up the Monteverde Invincia Deluxe Chrome from GouletPens as a result of this video. First order from GouletPen and won't be my last. Brian was spot on, this pen makes a statement great weight and presence...absolutely love it. Thanks Brian Goulet !

What about the Pilot 823?! It is big. It is shiny. It holds enough ink to suggest that you buy ink by the barrel.

I'm happy to see the Vanishing Point in this list; I'm very happy with the blue/rhodium EF that I have. Both the Raden VPs are absolutely gorgeous pens.

I really love my Monteverde Innova. I've tried Medium, Extra Fine, and Fine. Finally settled on the Fine. The carbon fiber body and gunmetal trim really looks handsome, and it has what I consider the most graceful clip I've ever seen on any pen.

Sadly they're only available used or in a couple 20th Anniversary special editions.
