.01% to 50%...aha.
I know this is an amazing triumph of technology and science but that margin of error is hilarious.

*Update:*
Nestle just launched a craft to K2-18b on a mission to collect the water and bottle it for sale. Industry insiders estimate the cost per bottle will retail at $399, 000, 000. Nestle has already sold 10 million presale bottles

Talking about space should always be that exciting...
And caitline doing the reporting with great sense of excitement... she made me so interested in the story 🖒

Love her piercing and how excited she is about space discoveries

I think that the recent appearance of interstellar comets could be a sign of more to come. Maybe we're moving into a galactic debris field. We seem to be discovering these objects with only a small warning. We should be prepared to defend against a collision.

Habitable or not, this is an interesting planet and I would love to learn more about it, in the future!

Hahaha, that James Webb is becoming like Fusion, "just a few more years and we'll crack it". 🤣🤣😭

SciShow: Two independent teams found water on an exoplanet. Both teams used the same data.
Disclaimer: In the data in question it was printed "water on k2-18b"
Me: I am starting to question the scientific enterprise

Couldn't the planet having a very thicc atmosphere protect the surface from harmful radiation? If it was several times larger than Earth, wouldn't it also presumably have a larger and stronger magnetic field which would protect it even further?

A lot of amateurs discover stuff in space because it’s so damn big you can’t see it all at once. Hobby scientist could really help other scientists if we took them seriously too sometimes.

We should send a lander to an interstellar asteroid so it can hitch a ride on out of here.

Thanks for the clarity and great update. Can we see the chance of water on objects like Borisov?

This was a pretty exciting story despite all the appropriate disclaimers... nice we are finally living in a space age.

It's close but that thick atmosphere has to be helping something

I now want to know what was this Borisov guy doing to detect this before any professional astronomer. How did he do it how complex it is etc.

"as we know it" - thanks for admiting that. its important to remember. We don't know it all, we don't know loads of stuff :)
