Christina Aguilera took the stage at the American Music Awards on Sunday night (Nov 19, 2017) to pay tribute to Whitney Houston. The star performed a medley of Houston’s hits from “The Bodyguard,” which marks its 25th anniversary on 2017.

“The Bodyguard” was released on Nov. 25, 1992. The film’s soundtrack went on to become the best-selling movie soundtrack of all time and included some of Houston’s most iconic songs.

After watching I Wanna Dance With Somebody, I stoked at the scene where Whitney was told to sing her 3 songs in medley and she's not feeling at first because all 3 songs are hard to sing, in the end she accepted to sing it medley. Unbelievable! What a vocal performance. I am not aware of any other singer who would have delivered this medley so powerfully and emotionally. Clarkson and Hudson are amazing, yes. But Christina has something else in her vocals that stands out from the others that makes it so special. Truly one of a kind. Christina deserves more respect and appreciation.
