Even Pink who is musician enjoyed her rendition. The way she rearranged and navigated the whole song into a 1-minute show was super impressed by Pink. Pink actually smiled after hearing she hit that note and runs. I don’t know why people say that this performance was pitchy. It wasn’t for me at all.

Honestly I liked the original she did bettee, even if she was 18-21 years old, scared, or shy. It was just more subtle. This felt strained a bit, and I’m speaking strictly as a musician and singer myself. I love Christina.

But I loved when she sang this twenty years ago EVER SO SLIGHTLY more… when Whitney was being given a BET lifetime achievement award, and in the full presence of MJB, Babyface, Beyoncé, Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland, and Cissy Houston (and God knows who else), Whitney was present and thanked Christina saying “Before anything, I need to thank Miss Christina. You are one who I truly enjoy from today’s music. And you are the ONLY one who can pull off Run To You, besides myself, ok?! Thank you so much!”

I wish Whitney could’ve heard Kelly Clarkson though. And Glennis from AGT! Never seen Simon so happy! Mel B was the villain that night, just for saying she wanted to hear more of Glennis and less Whitney, but it wasn’t an insult. Simon was grinning ear to ear. In rare form lol
