Sorkin's a great one study. So stylised and he hides exposition so well.

Great insights. I love when writers talk about story with terms associated to emotions and the overall human experience. At the end of the day movies are in the business of producing strong emotions. Yes, plot is important. But plot without heart leads no where. Please, more videos of her !

Excellent video, Film Courage! Writing good dialogue is one of the hardest things to achieve. I’ve made slight improvements over the past 8 years but it’s still my weakness.

FIRST!!!

I've heard other people say the best dialogue comes from real life.

The other actor in the three-hander at Rattlestick would have been Daniel Oreskes; the play was The Revisionist.

Great video. It's interesting how different approaches work for people. I've been listening to Becoming a writer audiobook by J. Michael Straczynski and he on the contrary recommends agaist writing about people you know, because it inhibits the character creation skill. Would love to see you interview him.

2:46 - Oh dear. No no no no no. That is not your first scene. That is how you emotionally alienate your audience. Cannot start on such a heavy topic. This is akin to trying to go all the way on the first date before the meal is even over.
