Reflecting back on this trailer, I think we had no idea of what we were watching. We couldn't even imagine what this would turn out to be. Just some studio called FromSoftware making a dark fantasy game. Miyazaki's name wasn't even in the trailer. And here we are, celebrating the newly released trailer for Elden Ring, after an entire trilogy of Dark Souls games, after two amazing new IPs sharing the same DNA, after a Remake of Demon's Souls, after 10 years of Souls games. Yes, we had no idea.

That scene with the chosen undead and iron tarkus is so badass, it simply shows that tarkus himself was supposed to have a major role in the game

this is the only game that I truly regard as a piece of art. there is nothing like it, and instead of just straight up throwing its more than brilliant lore at your face, they leave you to put the puzzle together yourself.
for me, dark souls is without a doubt the best game ever created as of now.

Damn near 2020, still putting hours into this masterpiece. Miyazaki truly redefined the gaming genre and gave the world an incredible adventure. And an even more incredible story. I only wish you guys had more time to put into the latter half of this outstanding game.

Watching this a week before Elden Ring and man, it's so cool. Back when Demon's Souls was the only frame of reference for this game, back when Hidetaka Miyazaki wasn't a video game superstar, back when From Software was just a teeny little studio making games that mostly flew under the radar. Being a fan of Demon's Souls and seeing this must have been the most incredible thing ever.
