Why on earth is the less expensive, less powerful, non "flag-ship" 7i laptop MORE premium feeling with a BETTER build (all metal, glass track pad, etc.) than the highest priced most powerful 7i Pro?! I do not understand these companies. Say I want the MOST powerful option & the MOST premium build - I can't have that....? I seriously have to choose between those 2 things? God almighty. Ok rant over I guess.

I recently ordered my Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 9 Intel (16") with RTX™ 4090, and I'm very impressed with its performance so far.
However, I've noticed an issue with the keyboard temperature:
While using the laptop for work (coding and design) and gaming ("Lies of P", "Hellblade"), the keyboard become warm, and during gaming  Specifically, the area near the power button and the lower section before the touchpad gets particularly hot . As a result, I've had to use a controller instead of the keyboard.

I tried to change Thermal Mode but wasn't useful

Is this normal for this model, or could my laptop be defective? Should I consider returning it?

Thank you for the reviews. It helped me to decide which one to buy.

My legion (slim) 7 with the 3.2k screen is a BEAST. I tried everything and it runs amazingly smooth, and from a person who came from 60hz, the 165hz is more than enough. And if you want to, you can downscale to 1600p without a big noticeable loss. I was scared of this but it doesn't seem to be an issue at all. Especially when you've had a 1080p before this one :)) if you want the premium quality but still good performance, go for the 7. I've seen the 5 pro in person, but the 7 is something else. I can't recommend it more!

Be aware: 7i Pro cooling will die or start weakening after month 9

2 separate machines required repair in different timeframes with the same fan issue (first just noise, then it broke and needed full replafement of the assembly)

Thankfully they repaired it in the 3 year warranty but still

So even though the 7 PRO is named 7 PRO but it is less premium compared to the 7 slim??? What the hell Lenovo
-no fingerprint scanner
-plastic keyboard
-no sd card slot
Also vapor chamber is only for the 4080 and 4090 version :/

At last someone took the effort to make this type of video. Great Job(seems like a lot of effort recording the video). Keep it up😊😊

I stumbled into a deal at Best Buy on the Lenovo Legion 7i i7-14700hx rtx4060 1tb ssd 16gb for $950 open box. I've been beating on in with synthetic benchmarks and games for a couple of days now. No issues at all and no cosmetic damages or anything like that. It's all around a great laptop. Your video helped me (after the purchase) to see I chose the right one for me. Thanks for this video!

I just subscribed! Beau, you had a very long day of hard work to conduct your evaluation and we appreciate your hard work! I like how you turned down the lights some at the end of day recap. Thanks! I think all the Performance Modes showing on the top right of laptop screens were all in the testing software setup, right? Can you please advise which Vantage setting you used when running the different video and gaming tests? ie Balanced, Performance, Extreme Mode.

I bought the white legion 7i two weeks ago and it quickly become the all-rounder i was looking for…thanks to this video for keeping it real. I saved more than 750$ for not going the 7i pro 4080 which was in my cart already. There’s more than enough juice under that metal frame for my work, light gaming or a combination of both on a blessed day. Thanks man, I appreciate the valuable input/insight and the honest review.

Great Video Man! Keep bringing us these types of videos.

I feel if Lenovo can somehow make a 14inch Lenovo 7/7i it’ll give other OEMs a run for their money since now ASUS, HP and MSI have now stepped up their game.

How's their battery/ power consumption comparison?

Hello, thank you for your good video! I have a question. I saw that the legion 7i pro 9 Gen uses liquid metal heat dissipation. Does it reduce durability and safety? Because I heard that liquid metal has the risk of displacement and leakage. I need to use a laptop for four to five years, and I don't pursue temporary good performance. Originally, I am waiting for the discount of pro 7i. But is it safer to choose 5i pro or 7i with PTM7950?

Awesome video, would be cool to see a comparison with the asus zephyrus G16 2024 4070 and the white legion 7i you have. it’s the same price $2000.

Hi, thanks for this video. I found legion 7i and legion pro 5i with almost same specs 7i with i9 and pro 5i with i7. Which I don’t mind as these are laptops. Which one to pick for good performance in games? Whats TDP for each laptop ? Please let me know what do you think.
