For a woman (of any race), to deal with a man (of any race) she doesn't know, is extra risk on her part. That guy with the TV show used to pretend to be in cruches to lure women into having a false sense of security.

When I was at my storage unit, there was a Black man stranded. I kept doing what I came to do in my unit and once I saw he still had no relief, I gave him a jump. It is scary sometimes for women to help men, but you also have to assess the situation and use your best judgment.

As a BW, I'm very vigilant when it comes to assisting strangers. If not for fear of physical harm, many times it's the verbal disrespect. It happens more often than not. 😔

I'm a woman, and as soon as you started your story, I was thinking about how intimidating helping a strange man can be, especially when you're alone. I would WANT to help, and in a highly public space I would, but in an isolated place???
Probably not.

It's great that you didn't reassess a whole group just because of what amounts to up to 4 people. It's crazy how often people do that.

My faith in you is such that I KNEW you had to be making a point for black women. You did not disappoint. 😘👊🏾

We said 'wrong' at the same time..😂😂😂

It's just one woman glued to her phone. Painting a whole people group based on that would be some pathetic level of ignorance.

That smirk and that "wrong" though. You almost got me! You are winning in every way, and I so appreciate the support you offer to the sisters (and the culture in general). A black man told me once that if I see a stranded man, to let a man help him. So I do. But that don't mean we don't have your back. We do. But you already knew that. ❤️

My daughter was having a tough day and was in her car with her kids in a parking lot crying. This guy pulled up and tried to start talking to her. She politely told him she was leaving, he them followed her even though she was taking random turns. He finally got in the right turn lane next to her then turned left cutting off two straight lanes of traffic in order to take a left hand turn in order to continue to follow her. This happened less than two weeks ago in Vegas. Predators are everywhere and I can only imagine how many pieces this man would have cut her and my grandkids into of she left the safety of her vehicle. Anyone in the comment feed that says the woman in this video was wrong for not helping has never had to worry about being raped, beaten, and cut into bite sized pieces. Never mind on a daily basis like women have to. Ignorance is bliss, but willful ignorance is disgusting! Try actually talking to the women in your life. Ask them how old they where the first time a stranger made them feel unsafe. How old they where the first time a grown man was sexually inappropriate with them. Ask them how they get to their cars after dark. Do they use the buddy system when going out with friends? Ask them about the harassment and the times men have tried to intimidate them. These are things men rarely, if ever have to think about. It is daily life for women. They are traumatized and have every right to protect themselves! It's time we do something about the sick society we live in that raises predators to hunt women and young girls, instead of blaming women for having the audacity to exist.

I'm a bw and i know a lot about cars but I don't help anyone when I'm alone. The only time i was going to help someone is if a woman is alone too. That's only happened once and is still be cautious

Not exactly defending that woman you referred to with this comment. Just speaking for me. Had I seen you stranded I may might've helped you either. Not because I'm a black female or because you're a black male, just that I'm female and you're male. Females are taught to not get involved in things of this nature for security reasons. I would want to help but the fear of the endless stories of showing kindness and ending up in a million different scenarios that lead to a police report are overwhelming. But again, maybe I would figure a way to keep me safe and help you...I hope that I would. Anyway, I'm glad someone was able to assist you. Thanks for your content❤

As a Black woman, it's very hard to be generous and giving. It's honestly very dangerous. So thanks for understanding!

that "wrong" at the end was so eloquent of all the stuff i thought this video would be, like i expected an essay and you boiled it down to its base parts in one word. reminds me to not get caught up in overthinking how 2 explain something to myself when i already know it, y'know? on top of the good reflection on my own racism. also relate to that woman so hard, not even for safety just autism and social anxiety XD i would never make eye contact with a stranger if i could help it thats how you get into pokemon battles where they expect things of you socially and you dont know what those things are or what theyre thinking about or what theyre expecting from you now and all you can do is stare firmly at the middle distance and hope you havent Activated The Sacred Rites

I'm glad you happened upon some nice folks. I'm super glad the usual experience didn't happen. Praise all.

It is hard and dangerous for BW outchea. Minding our biz is sometimes the only way to remain safe and to avoid verbal and physical abuse. With that said, I have offered a jumpstart for various people at various times, usually only when in a crowded place (like rest stops along 95 in the northeast of the US). I'm glad you didn't judge or change anything about your general disposition. Good people come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. What a nice world it would be if everyone showed kindness towards everyone else.

Women are often lured into traps by "strangers needing assistance" and it could cost her her life to help someone with car trouble, so this was probably more an act of self-preservation than rudeness. Sometimes the danger of existing as a woman in this world trumps everything else.

Honestly... As a biological female, I was raised that if I was to help and then be attacked it would be my fault for "making myself vulnerable". Make it safe for women to help and more will step up, but we can't risk our lives for it in many circumstances.
