Saya anak Malaysia. Even as Indonesian, I'm happy to hear that. Especially since we use similar language and understand each other.

I've been living in the Netherlands for 10 years. I'll just say I'm Malaysian to everyone I meet. I used to say I was chinese malaysian (or rather Malaysian chinese) but after a while I dont find the value in doing so anymore because I feel that there's no difference in telling people that. When people ask how come I speak Cantonese with my family back home then I'll explain my ethnicity. I don't bother distinguishing myself between the races outside of Malaysia anymore, there are just subtleties where we may think it's important to distinguish in our country (when it comes to ethnicities) but actually it may not even matter to the rest of the world, you know what i mean? That's why I dont bother anymore. And yes saya pun anak Malaysia (and it doesnt matter what my ethnicity is). Just my 2 cent. 👍

I'm 2nd generation Chinese American, grandparents immigrated in the 1950's and I always get grilled about China politics from an In Law from Arkansas, who is a Trump fanboy. Asks questions like, "Why did your family come to the US?" and I respond, "Why did your family come to the US?"

Sebagai orang Indonesia, tetangga, ikut bangga Ronny sukses di Amerika. He didn't shy to use Bahasa Melayu on this occasion. Respect.

This the thing I love about comedians man. Ronny Chieng, Nigel Ng, they embraces their roots and take pride of being a Malaysian. Love Ronny Chieng

Most Malaysians are very proud of being Malaysians regardless of their ethnicity. It’s just that politicians in Malaysia like to spin around playing racial politics. Whenever I went overseas, I introduced myself as Malaysian. dot.

Malaysians have the best sense of humour. It's very multicultural and locals love to joke about each other.

Everyone saying he's from China because he's Chinese are confusing ethnicity with nationality.
