I have been using Instastik plasterboard adhesive. It’s a high grab low expansion foam.

Thank for the great vid, I couldn't agree more. I have been you regular cheapest expanding foam for 10 years, Boarded out whole house, not a crack in sight. I usually give quick scrubbing brush with water to brick surface to remove loose powdery plaster residue, then spray with water prior to foaming on boards, thin beads or dots allow somewhere for foam to expand, too much in one place will push board off wall while curing. Allow a few minutes for initial expansion to happen before fitting, PVA or SBR really bad walls for good adhesion. I too had to remove some foamed on boards, I had to really destroy the board then remove the foam afterwards, really boosted my confidence in using expanding foam.

My god that wall looks like it’s going to fall down. The bricks are moving when you try to take it off. Hats off it’s strong foam. I’m about to do the same but I repointed all the bricks to make sure I have a solid surface for many years to come …

How much time did you spend cleaning the bricks before cracking on with the getting the boards up? I’ve got some mega cruddy brickwork to contend with! Did you pva at all?
