Thank you sir, the zoom is what I'm saving up for, I fly for fun & believe that (for my use) the zoom is all I will ever need. Great video

I think unless your a professional photographer, the zoom would be best for most people. The average person may not be able to tell the difference in the videos of the two new Mavics.

I got the zoom and I am blown away by the image quality that’s coming out of this camera, then you throw in the zoom on top of that= awesomeness. I was able to get some awesome shots of alligators Baskin in the sun without getting close to them which I have never been able to do with any other DJI drone that I have owned in the pass. And it’s was a very exciting and adventure filling. This drone makes me want to go out and fly more. I am very pleased with my purchase!

Thank you. My doubts are over, I don't work with professional photo. Zoom will suit me well. Optical zoom is a great feature for movies from afar.

Great review,
I am stock on the fence, I would say that I am a casual user that likes to submit stock videos.

Questions do ND filters the original Mavic fit the Zoom?
Do photos you stick have to be still and lack motion?

Hi, you guys seem to really know your stuff 👍🏻
Can you answer this question for me....
Do you think this drone would be an effective tool for a Carp angler ? I'm looking to fly at a height where the drone is silent (this version for the low noise props) where I can see water displacement, discoloration and even fish in the upper layers of the water column (polarising filters required ?) as mentioned at a height where silent as not to disturb other anglers.

Is this an effective tool for what I'm looking for and if not what would you recommend ?

Many thanks 👍🏻

How critical is it in pointing the controller at the drone? I know with my old phantom you had to have it aimed at the drone pretty good to get any range out of it, but I’ve seen videos with people with Mavics standing to the side and still getting really far.

I agree with you 100% and I don't even own either one yet. I'm still using the Mavic Pro Platinum and it is working for me. I have heard growls from some companies that they may want only 20MP stills in the future and Zoom can do that, right? I wonder if DJI and brought out the Zoom as the higher priced if fewer people would have jumped on the Pro 2 so fast. I;m holding off for a few moths until it all shakes out. Nice review.

And this is the WORSE video you’ve ever done... shame.

You talk about the 2 drones like the only thing that is important is resolution. What about the overall quality of the image, light gathering, digital noise, colors, variable aperture, etc. Actually for the average drone operator, the Zoom is going to give them one extra step to control and the majority of the people - not being filmmakers - will end up with weird looking videos from pulling-in and out of a shot.

Closing, you compare the Zoom zoomed in with the 2Pro in FoV. Is people going to film zoomed-in all the time? How about comparing the Zoom with the 2Pro in HQ mode that gives a full 4K resolution. Megapixels aren’t anything but sensor size is. A 1/2.3 sensor has worse properties than a 20Mpx 1” Hasselblad one.
