What if we went to Cantha in 1334 AE? | Guild Wars 2 mystery

Cantha—what could it look like today? Prior to the launch of "End of Dragons", I imagined what the entirety of the canthan continent could look like in anticipation of the next Guild Wars 2 expansion, which will most certainly take us to this asian-inspired land.

Very nice speculations. I like how you derive your theories from the seemingly obvious stuff, like "highly urbanized area -> no fertile land -> hanging gardens". Heck, we can even pull this even further and tie it to an elite specialization, a group of people who specialized in boosting plants' growth, modifying earth.

your map art is absolutely gorgeous!! It fits perfectly with the map we have now, and I hope we get to see as far south in game as you show us here. Not just the Cantha we saw in GW1, but CANTHA, and by that I mean the ENTIRE continent. I expect the expansion will focus on the four regions from the first game (or maybe even just three of them, leaving one for living world). I do hope that we get a minimum of one living world season/saga still set in cantha after the expansion though, because there is so much subject material already, not to mention the incredible amount of potential for new ideas in the region, like the ones you gave.

I just can't wait to explore GW2's Cantha. I took a break for many years and came back to GW2 7-8 months ago and I enjoyed PoF like I never enjoyed a game before. Probably going to be the same...AS A TENGU >:D
