I would have to learn the engineering, mathematics, physics and other fundamental notions before I'll go to the middle ages coz honestly I don't know much about the world because I take most things for granted.

This won't be as easy as you might think. The first problem would be the language barrier. Even though people in some parts of Europe can speak English, the accent and the way they sound or speak would be so different. You might even think that they're speaking an entirely different language but it's actually a much older version of English.

You might also get attacked by some thieves or bandits if they learned that you possess valuables, so better arm yourself with a gun. Also better go in a small group of at least 4 or 5 people, so that you can protect yourselves better. A group will also have a much convincing power to influence people than being alone. You might be ignored or percieved as weird and crazy if people saw you alone wearing a different clothes and speaking in unfamiliar language.

Imagine telling a dude from the middle ages u can read book, watch movies, talk to people in the other side of the country, plan routes on maps, find answer to any goddamn question you have, use a flashlight, order pizza, all with the help of a shiny rectangle with a half eaten apple drawn on it

I have always wondered about this and what i would do is find the smartest people of that time and then give them the information about our 21st-century tech

I think I’d bring back a book of summaries for the last 200 years’ advancements and some airplane blueprints, and hopefully they’d be able to figure out the rest…

This makes me think how future humans will mock our Technology.

'What would you bring back to the middle ages.'

First off how much am I allowed to carry as that dictates what I'm going to take. Ditto prep time. Destination time/location.

Let's say I'm allowed 'as much as can be carried.' Backpacker's backpack plus parachord to lash all manner of things TO that pack/frame.

Unfortunately this gravely limits what i can carry in terms of trade goods which means no making a fortune off of carrying spices. Granted I would bring SOME spices, but more importantly I would carry seeds, specifically from new world plants (tomatoes, corn, potatoes, etc.)

Three changes of clothing, a bedroll/sleeping bag, small tent.

WATER PURIFICATION STRAWS since I am in no way going to trust ANY local water supply. Travel kit for eating. One pot, kettle, Firestarter kit (one of those striker things.) topographical maps of the region and compass along with any known habitation location records that have survived (for the sake of a destination.)

Would bring a toolbelt with several hammers (screws aren't used all that much. Several boxes of nails. Good quality nails are a useful tradegood and I wouldget personal use out of it.

Two steel axes. As much parachord as could be carried in adition to what's lashing all this TO me.

A tablet in a waterproof/ruggedized case. Solar charger. Spare batteries, because that initial battery will go dead into uselessness within two years. Given that there is no internet though I might opt to go with a raspberry pi in laptop formfactor with a solar power charger since that is both more flexible and in theory it would be useful even without the battery.... but the problem then is getting enough juice from the charger. Either way I'm packing these things because i can't pack the library i'll need conventionally, and in two years I'll either have some form of lordship and lands or i'll be dead.

I would have to bring several journal books andpens though, as i will want to record my own thoughts on the situation in something that is more likely to survive than an unpowered SD card.

I'm forgetting things, and I will show up then realize i should have brought this tht or five other things. Such is the case with any trip, but there is my basic to pack list.

I think the best thing to provide the middle age is electricity, as we now figured it that we can run cars in electricity so it may happen that they come up with something innovative and also it will be saving us time

I think maybe if you prevented a lot of the disease deaths in Europe, you might prevent or postpone the creation of documents like the magna carta and other ideas of individual rights. With all the serfs dying off, the ones left behind suddenly have a better bargaining stance with the aristocracy since so much of the work force was killed.

If these technological advancements were created and used in the middle ages, would our technology in the present be more advanced than what the current civilization have now? I wonder how the world would look like. Would we upgrade to the Kardeshev scale? If so, it would be so cool, doesn't it?
