Great piano playing of ragtime music: not too fast but played with a strong marching tone and beat as well as being expressive - well done!

This proves that older music is better than the stuff that we listen to today!

I always enjoy Joplin's music so much! The Pineapple Rag is one of my favourites! Every time I listen to his music I'm filled with wonder at his innovative ability to come up with a totally new (OK Beethoven did that bit!) style right out of the blue. A true genius IMvHO. He deserves more recognition as a Classic Composer; equal and superior to much of the discordant atonal etc modernistic classical music which was produced shortly after this era.
I suppose as ever and as with people's taste in food, for example, musical beauty is in the ear of the listener.

I think it's the best version on youtube, at least if you combine sound quality and performance quality.

That is an understatement :) It really inspired him:)

Although this #2 pianist/composer of all the (7) who are playing this one on all of Utube, I'd sincerely rank Joshua Rifkin's style as #1 - these others are just too fast.

Isn't STACCATO ... Even Scott-JOPLIN-Himself On-The-Piano-ROLL(s) He-Cut [4]-Months Before-His-DEATH From SYPHILLIS Doesn't Play-It This-Way / From-'Memory' The-Original Sheet-Music From The John-STARK Collected-Works That Came-OUT In-The-[70s] With The Large MAPLE-Leaf Image On-The-Front-Cover Has-[R] Massive 'Pause'-SIGN ... So The-Note Is-Actually A 'Magical'-Implied-Note As Scott Plays-It On The Piano-Roll Almost Like a Tensioned-Piece-of-Elastic ... Even-TODAY Many-People Can't-'Match'-His Piano-ROLLS [4]-months-From-His-DEATH ... Know-Wonder He-Was Often Referred-to As The-'Black'-MOZART So-To-Speak!!!??? >(*U^)< *Wink*
