It seems like there would not be much leg room if the seats recline ‘forward, ’ and if the leg rest move up to 90 degrees, where do you put your legs? Do you have to keep your knees/legs up to fit?

Yeah shell seats are like that.

Good that JAL PE can access lounge. ANA PE also has lounge access.
Emirates, SQ, Qantas, all no lounge access leh.
