WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.

The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

They should rename the show to "Callers Refuse to Answer Questions".

They won't answer the question because it is inconvenient. They see the logic trap, and since they don't want to face being wrong, they dodge it and try to move on. It is dishonest, of course, but most of them are incapable of doing otherwise because to do so reveal the unreasonableness of their belief.

Caller refuses to answer questions that plainly display his cognitive bias & then dodges a straightforward "did you know" question. Such an open example of Matt being honest & the theist being dishonest..

Pretty sure Matt has enough examples of this to publish a paper on the correlation between theism & honesty.

The real tragedy these callers exemplify is how low their standard is when it comes to evidence for something to be convincing. This is not a new problem, nor is it improving in this 'enlightened' age in which we have access to all kinds of solid information and education.

I wish MSM interviewers were this strict when asking questions. I would say politicians may actually answer questions for once, but then they wouldn't ask a hard question ever again.

Watching the Atheist Experience is the closest we’ll get to feeding Christians to the lions. Matt devours Christians more savagely than lions. But Matt uses truth to skewer Christians.

The caller tried to suggest that since Matt is not a believer that if he said he had an experience with the holy spirit there should be doubt. Yet, the caller probably would be more than happy to believe that Saul, who was christians, and who then reported he had a vision of Jesus.
