Daemon is pretty rash to not accept the significance of the power of Targaryen dreams. The reason their house didn't die in Valyria is because of Daenys' dream. You'd think he would be aware of how prophetic Targaryen dreamers.

It's funny because that's what I literally got from that scene. That Viserys tried to tell Daemon but this was the one thing he could never grasp about ruling, true duty to sacrifice instead of duty to glory.

Sooo Daemon doesn’t believe in magic but he quite literally is only able to ride and bond with a dragon because of that not only that but dragons are also magical creatures so atp he’s just an ignorant person 😂

The problem with the conversation between Viserys and Daemon is that Daemon was constantly being SENT AWAY under the influence of Otto Hightower who didn't want the two brothers to continue having a strong bond since Daemon Targaryen was supposed to be HAND of the King and Otto Hightower's influence prevented that.

Plus the fact that since Otto Hightower became the hand to his first King even that was questionable as to how he became hand of the king especially when you understand that he has been constantly conspiring to remove Targaryens from power and influence.

As such Daemon starts to take the attitude that he needs to become a strong warrior as well as a strong leader which he recklessly accomplished at the risk of certain death yet he managed to overcome those challenges especially against the Triarchy and the Crab Feeder which also gave Corlys several accomplishments that neither would accomplish by sitting in the small council and waiting for Otto Hightower to give permission to Viserys to do anything.

Therefore you can understand that regardless of them being brothers, they have a wedge between them in Otto Hightower (eventually Alycent too) and as such their conversations are not going to be easy... because for most of the time Daemon is essentially being cast aside, snubbed and rejected from being too close to Viserys and in the show we can see this when Viserys keeps falling into the belief that Daemon wants the crown and throne and that Daemon is seemingly treated like he may attempt a forced coup even though he never does and he always bends the knee and swears fealty to his brother and King.

Therefore for Viserys to bring up stories of magic and prophecy is a bit too much to take or seems to come out of left field...

So wait my opinion and feelings don't matter and I am always being questioned in the real world so now you want to talk about magical prophecies?

To Daemon's more military warrior mindset, he seen problems as puzzles to overcome with action, not by talking... therefore Daemon can reject the topic of conversation especially when he is not being trusted which we see in season 1 which is directly consulted by GRRM himself who has been working with the director and producers since 2018 making HotD not at all like how GoT was managed

Further, if Viserys had spent more time with Daemon (something that Otto Hightower would interrupt or sabotage anyway) then the conversation could have come up and even if Daemon would still dismiss it at least the conversation would have been completed and Daemon would at least have something to remember for later especially if he ended up experiencing some super natural phenomena or visions.

They pretty much had this scene anyway when Daemon says this exact response to Rhenerya after she tells him the prophecy.

I mean Viserys still could have told daemon, because the entire prophecy is still about a Targaryen having the blood of a dragon. So it’s not like daemon’s opinion contradicts or clashes with the prophecy.

Viserys said, "The idea that we control the dragons is an illusion". He continues, "They're a power man should never have trifled with". Ceraxses may have mislead Daemon in that regard. Daemon actually thought he was the TRUE ALPHA betw the two😄😁😆...

Should have shown this scene. This vid+last week's face-face scene in the temple where Rhaenyra corrects Alicent in the temple about "The Prince That Was Promised" just PROVES that both Daemon & Alicent's branch of the family weren't equipped to handle the future of the Iron Throne👑

I think targaryen’s and prophecies go hand and hand, and the fact that daemon denies prophecies means he’s not meant to be a targaryen king.

Of all the books Daemon read, you'd expect him to respect the Targaryen's dreams a bit more. They're the reason his family survived The Doom, after all
