Rhythmbox and Banshee are really good players, but they are more oldschool like old iTunes. Tauon is modern minimalistic jukebox. It has great search function. Just write the keyword of any kind on main window and it searches the library, click on the tag and it makes playlist for you. There are more features in the settings but I wanted it only for it's minimalistic design and search feature. Another great player is DeadBeeF. You can completely redesign the interface adding own controls etc. For now I'm going to use Tauon. Super cool app.

Hi Art! I've been looking for linux music players recently, and I really like the "cover grid" style. Like you said in the video, while Lollypop is great, it is very "GTK-y", and I want something that doesn't feel as awkward on my setup. I've been looking at Tauon Music Box along with a variety of others, but I am curious: which music player is your current daily driver? I want something that can perform well with a large library, but also look nice and modern while not as bulky as Lollypop. Is Tauon the best right now?

Thank you Art. Love new recommendations for software that might have slipped through the cracks and never would have gone up on my personal radar.

Seems like a great software, but Flatpak for non-Arch users? Yikes! A huge turn-off for me personally. Appimage is the way to go IMHO.
