F mpd; just use mpv.
Organize music in directories or create a playlist (text file), play it with mpv. + Play videos as audio/music with mpv + yt-dlp.

I use ncmpcpp and its great but honestly I tend to just browse for my music with lf and play it in mpv. I like organising my music by directory anyway so using a file manager makes sense to me. I think it's also handy to mention ncmpcpp does have a really useful tag editor that is pretty much the only reason I still have it lol.

I would've loved mpd if it had better feature support for modules, like at least have loops... It's better to just make a list of all songs then plumb them into the correct player. The best thing about it is that this will give more control and handle large playlists a thousand times better (instead of freaking out and crashing which made me unable to use ncmpcpp anymore because I have 100k+ songs)
