Teaching Modern Languages to children

The School of Modern Languages supports practitioners to implement the 1+2 approach to language learning. The Scottish Government’s policy, Language Learning in Scotland: A 1+2 Approach, is aimed at ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn a modern language (known as L2) from P1 until the end of the broad general education (S3).
