Physics 62.1 Understanding Space, Time & Relativity (3 of 55) Is Relativity Real?

In this video I will explain how scientist used GPS to show that special and general relativity are real. Scientists have to take into account because of the effects of special relativity: time on satellites is LESS than time on Earth. And because of the effects of general relativity: time on satellites is GREATER than time on Earth. And if the scientists do not adjust for both (unfortunate the “LESS than” and “GREATER than” do not cancel each other out), we will find ourselves somewhere else other than where GPS says we are!

Great example. There is however one inaccuracy: GPS units only receive satellite signals (possibly from multiple GPS satelites), they don't transmit to the satelite.

just now i figure it out how difficult is to google maps find my position, i've watched your series about GPS and i thought that was hard enough, then comes relativity making it close to impossible, but even this, my smartphone takes around 10s to figure my position, it's quite interesting the point where we get.

What exactly is 'gravity' and how exactly does it do what it does?

Consider the following:
a. Speed is distance divided by time. Distance is two points in space with space between those two points. So, both space and time have to have some sort of actual existent reality (besides just as a concept on paper) for speed to exist. And speed has to exist to have the 'speed of light' be able to actually exist. If either space and/or time did not have some sort of actual existent reality (other than as a concept on paper), then speed and speed of light could not actually exist in existent reality (other than as a concept on paper).

But now:
b. What exactly is 'space'?
c. What exactly is 'time'?

They both have to have some sort of actual existent reality for speed and speed of light to have an actual existent reality. What exactly are they???

(I bring this up because there are some here on the internet that don't recognize 'space' as having an actual existent reality other than as a concept on paper, AND I have come across different people with different definitions for 'time'. Seems to me we should be able to nail this down one way or another.)
