I carry an espada large on a regular basis.  I love the XL too.  If my life depended on it and in event of SHTF I would carry the XL.  I not trained in the proper use of a knife for fighting.  That XL is a real talent gap closer.  Even a moron like me would be very dangerous with that XL.

I've been psyched about ordering 1 of the XL-Espada "pocket swords" ever since watching COLD STEEL's "proof" vid. Prior to seeing your review I began to wonder if it wasn't all I had hoped for after watching a few other reviews before yours, complaining how hard the lock was to close, steel type, handle grip. I realized the guys were all of smaller stature after you mentioned being 6'4. Being 6'5 myself, with huge hands, you've convinced me its THE perfect EDC BEAST, for men like us! Thanks : )

Just got me the espada but in the smallest medium size they offer....for EDC...def recommend to anybody looking to get one...light weight, sharp out of the box....Pretty sure no bad guy will want to tango if your were to pull out this "mini sword."

The camera definitely does NOT give it justice. It is absolutely amazing in person, I purchased mine from armoryexpressoutlet Tom will give you a great deal on these massive knives, I can't really even get it into my pocket its so big, so I've decided i'm going to keep it for collectability and purchase the g10 large for edc. I'm also going to get all 3 of these beautiful knives!!!!

Due to its' fairly significant price and my desire to keep her in top shape for years to come I just had a few questions for ya I'd appreciate getting your opinion on. Which brand of oil would you recommend using on this beauty to keep her rust-proof and operating nice and smoothly, and how often would you say? Does it arrive from the factory razor sharp and retain its' edge nicely? Which sharpening system do you use/recommend to keep her razor sharp and how often? Any other tips? Thx again!

@OurChaosInMotion This blade comes as sharp as a box cutter. It will go through a cow side off beef (the whole rib cage) like a banana. Be careful it is extremely dangerous. You will never have to sharpen it in your life as it is designed for personal defense against a bad guy. Do not use this a s a utility blade, this goes in your pocket like a firearm. I use Ballistol every so often & it will never rust. Watch my update video tomorrow. Thanks. Tom You will not pay $469.00 BTW
