NEVER maintain a friendship with someone that tells you they feel jealous. It doesn't matter if it's an honest/open statement, they will still mess you up. R U N

Not only do we need to stay clear away from people who do this to us, but we got to also make sure that we're not like this also to other people!

Don’t forget -
- The person that looks for things wrong in your life.
- The person that needs to change the subject when you share a success

Sometimes the people who envy others don’t realize the amount of pain that the person had to overcome in order to be who they are, that if they have to go through that pain most likely they wouldn’t even make it

Took me a long time to realised this kind of game. Unfortunately most of them are families. I chose healthy boundary for my mental health. Blood is not always family.

I’ve been a victim many times. I find one of the easiest ways to detect envy is when ppl critique the very thing they envy about you . I remember I had a disagreement with a neighbour and another neighbour came out and verbally attacked me for no reason at all. It almost as if she was waiting for an opportunity to attack me despite never having a conversation with me in past. So I asked her what this disagreement had to do with her and she responds by saying…anyway I don’t have any time to argue with you over your inheritance. Even my other neighbor had a funny look on her face as if to say, what does that have to do with anything? She said that because she knows my house was inherited from my mother who passed some yrs ago. This was definitely an obvious sign of envy. She exposed herself and didn’t even realise.

Envious people also use texting to maintain power and control over you. Not texting back after many days with no explanation , stonewalling after you say no to their request, not answering your questions and going onto something else dismissing you.. .Be aware it's not always in your face..

It's very interesting because the people who are jealous and envious of others actually are talented and had many traits to admire. What they need to do is embrace their own gifts and love themselves. We are all special and have own positive traits

I had that 'aha' moment over a year ago about my sister, who I also realized was/is a narcissist, when I connected the dots about her behaviors toward me. Constantly criticizing me, competing with me, and spreading lies and distortions about me. I felt stupid that I didn't realize sooner how envy (and pride) motivated her behaviors. But I was also surprised and saddened, because if you looked at her outwardly, a very successful, beautiful, popular woman, and compared her with me, her opposite, you'd wonder what in the world she had to be envious of. Until it dawned on me it's my authenticity and character that she envies the most, and has even tried to mimic.

What puzzles me the most are people who have everything but get jealous of the little of what someone else has in comparison … or when that person moves a step up they tear them down when they’re already at the “top”…!

What they don’t talk about it is when your PARTNER is jealous of you! Instead of shining together, you find them competing with you over literally everything

I have been dealing with this heavily in my life as I am progressing. It’s been a hard realization but I’m learning to keep my business to myself, it’s actually sad because I love to share im very open but I didn’t realize how many people are secretly miserable and hate you if you’re happy. Starting to see through peoples facade.

That excessive flattery is called Reaction Formation. It's when people express the opposite of how they really feel. It's a well know defense mechanism in psychology.

I've been experiencing envy and jealousy since a young age but only knew it was envy last year because I was always insecure and didn't think I was special. I don't have any friends anymore as I cut them off all one by one, I was in a repetitive cycle, I didn't understand the lesson. They say the universe will bring you the same people and experiences until you learn the lesson. The lesson was to realise my own worth and to love myself. I do now, it took me 32 years and I just cut off my 20+ year toxic bestfriend. I'm angry at myself for losing my twenties being insecure and being around the wrong people.

I have just come to a place in my life where I realize this is the reason a lot of my relationships with female family members are bad. It's really hard to love people when you celebrate every one of their wins, attend every party/celebration, but when it's finally your turn, they're mad. They're nowhere to be found, or you get half-a$$ed compliments/back-handed insults.💔
